I'm in NJ and we have pizza pizza, and its big big big slices at most places.

Am I still supposed to use the same pts value for that as the small pizza hut type slices?

Have you tried Dotti's Weight Zone or Google to find the value for something from your restaurant or comparable? If you can't then guess the best you can, add a point.

Yeah I would try to find nutritional facts and calculate them on calculator. Unless you are talking of an un-franchised place, may be more difficult. You could use something like Zbarro

Two suggestions

Look at myfitnesspal or similar places to try to find how someone else may have estimated the same pizza. It might not be right but might give an idea.

When something is larger than usual but is flat I actually calculate the area of what WW has points for and then the area of what I am eating and then I adjust the points accordingly. If the area is twice as large then I count twice the points, for example.

Is it like the NY style "buy by the slice" pizza?

I find a resturaunt that may be similar. And use that. Or I use the highest points value I can find.

I do not say no to Pizza. I am just smart about it. That is what I like about Weight watchers, don't have to say no to anything. If I want it, I have it and plan for it.

That is my real world and so far, it has worked very nicely

It's just that, at least for me, I can certainly plan to eat ice cream. But I don't, because if I eat it, I want more, and will think about it days after having had it. (It's my drug, I guess). So, by saying no, it just makes life a lot easier. I find pizza in the same category... By saying no, life's a lot easier, and just as varied. It wasn't a slam on your will power, I'm pretty sure!

What I have done with pizza (aside from the Weight Watchers Smart Ones pizzas) I will order (from Dominos) a small, gluten-free pizza topped with green pepper, mushrooms and onions.
Gluten free not only saves on points (a small full pizza from Dominos costs about 31 points, while the gluten free version is 24) but it tastes great.

For what its worth, I did a calculation based on weight of bread, cheese, and guessitmated the sauce and mushrooms, on the local I love NY Pizza (typical NYC style slices) and came up with 340 calories for 1 slice. We have "Pizza Wednesday" at work. I still participate, but now instead of "Pizza Wednesday, I do "Pizza 1 Wednesday a Month"
