Just in general, I learned an important lesson last week and I love to share.
If you are really hungry and you need to be awake for a while, then go ahead and have a snack, and track it. When I've gotten to that point in the past, where I was out of points, I would just not track whatever so I guess it was like I never ate it? Except that once I stopped tracking I gave myself permission to eat whatever I wanted. But last week I tracked even though I knew I didn't have enough points for my dinner, and actually saw my points go negative the night before my meeting! But I stopped eating once I'd had enough. That was the difference, I stayed in control. As it turns out, the world kept on spinning, and I actually lost a pound (that's a lot for me, honestly). Going over your points allowance does not mean you'll gain weight, or even that you'll only maintain. Just be mindful about what you eat, and then the next week try to improve! |
The way i look to WW is that i stick to my daily allowance, sometimes not all my allowance is used up... i have a breakfast that is 6 points and then if i still feel peckish i make sure i have fruit fill me up a bit. A lunch that works out about 8/9 points and fill up again on fruit or salad (even if i want a wee treat i have the caramel wafers thats only 2 points). Dinner is more points about 12... again i have a treat ie ww pudding thats about 4 points if i feel hungry. I always makes sure i leave some point for after 8pm incase if feel hungry but so far ive only ever been exactly to my daily points allowance a couple of times. However i choose to east what i want when i go out for dinner (which isnt very often) but it helps if the weekly allowance is is untouched for this.
Ive found eating more fruit instead of crisps etc is helping me :) |
Personally, I find I feel much more full if I eat things in small bites, so I try to snack on things that have a lot of small pieces to them. Popcorn is actually not too bad for you, and at WalMart you can buy small 100 calorie bags that are only 3 WW points! Also, I like to eat baby carrots and hummus. My favorite hummus flavors are zesty lemon and garlic, both of which are really good with carrots, crackers, celery, or whatever else you are munching on. If you are not sure whether you are legitimately hungry or just bored, try picture yourself eating a big steak dinner (or whatever your favorite big meal is). If you feel a little gross while you picture eating it, then you are just bored, not actually hungry. This seems to work for me :)
Good luck! |
