Where are all the WW posts?

  • I used to frequent this board a lot and there used to be a lot more posts, what happened? Where did all the people go?
  • For some reason this message board has gotten very, very slow. I know I frequent the message board at Dotti's and it is very busy all day everyday.

I still check in here to share my information and knowledge but you are more than welcome to join us over at Dotti's.
  • Another shameless plug!
Well, if we're going to plug other support forums, then I simply will have to plug my favorite!

Bootcamp Buddies is one great support forum, 26,000 members can't be wrong! It is a support forum for the SERIOUS WW, meaning they have a no excuses, no whining philosophy..............kind of a tough love approach. I wouldn't have made it to goal any other way and I give this place full credit for keeping me on track.

Come join us........we are a very active board! BOOTCAMP BUDDIES
  • I wonder this myself. It used to be such a thriving place. I do like my board and wish others would join in the fun.

    lala
  • I wasn't so much plugging another board because I have always enjoyed my time here. I don't know why this board got so slow except that when BCB and 3FC first parted ways some flew to BCB and some flew to Dotti's and some left for a while.
  • This is my personal opinion and please flame away, I am putting on my suit. I think the design of these boards blows away Dotti. I love her boards for the interactions, but the site design is awful and the graphics are well, quite dated.

Having said that, she is probably not going to go to the effort to change her pages to suit me. If she want to go folksy, that is great. It appeals to many, not to me.

I haven't seen the boot camp board in a long time, but I think its much like this in terms of page layout, ability to search etc.

I think what is also hard for me is to have the board founders have such a hard time dealing with their lives, it makes me depressed when I log on to read their journals. I don't know whether or not that is a turn off to others coming to the site for inspiration.

    Just my 0.015 euros worth.

    lala
  • I like Dotti's because it is more of a 'FAMILY' there. While we have newbie's all the time we rarely 'lose' (for lack of a better term) anyone so the 'buddy' factor is there.

I have a hard time with the 'hard a$$ core' at BCB although I do post information there and here as well. Setbacks are a fact of life and no one is perfect. Yes you can plan all you want but sometimes life tosses you a lemon so make lemonade with it!

The graphics at Dotti's are more for links to other sections and so you have faces to put with names.

Journals show how people feel and what is up. It can be helpful.

I love both 3FC and Dotti's and like BCB! Remember there are many, many W/W sites that are out there however I think any of them are much better monitored than the official W/W site.

Well, a big AMEN to that!

We all gravitate to what fills our needs. For me, BCB has been a Godsend. Others find the tough love approach to be harsh. But in the whole scheme of things....as long as we are getting the support that we need, it doesn't matter where we get it from. I also like to go to all three sites, but BCB is my home. I applaud the efforts of Dotti, 3FC and the generals at BCB.....it is amazing what these people do for US. They all deserve a big in my book!!!

    And Kel........that WW forum, egads!
  • Raidermom!

Have you seen the General Daily Forum at W/W? Oh my goodness. I even sent a message to the staff at W/W and got back "please advise us which thread you are talking about when you have problems" -- well hello it is 95% of those threads. Rarely a thread talking about W/W at all there. I remember gosh 5 years ago when it was a good place. I always steer people from there to here, Dotti's and if they need or can handle BCB.
  • Well I appreciate the information. I have already known BCB, and to be honest, they were a great kick in the butt, but not much common sense in the way of letting me cutomize my own plan. I don't mean they weren't flexable on letting me go over points, but they wouldn't let me have my own style of eating within points. I just felt such a critical atmosphere. It was a little awkward and I felt very unwelcomed. Anyway, Dottis has been a great place to visit. The girls are a little square when it comes to my sense of humor, but I cant expect everyone to laugh at my jokes...lol.... Thanks for all the help!!!
  • I love BCB but then I like the no nonsense just get the job done approach. I get tired of the whiners who complain about not losing but aren't really on program either.
  • Susan,

You mean like the girls at the GDT Board at the official W/W site. LOL!

Frankly there aren't many at Dotti's either that aren't following the program properly and whining about not losing. We do have a lot of 'at homers' who don't have all the materials and don't understand but we are training them.
  • Oh goodness, I didn't mean to imply that I was looking for a place to let me slide on my pooints or listen to me whine. I can't stand hearing women go on about not losing and whine about how they plan to "make" it through their next Holiday without gaining. I am strictly no nonsense myself and don't like the nonsense that I hear from people who like to complain instead of do what they need to to get the job done. What I was complaining about BCB is that I wanted to do my points on a low carb plan and they gave me an exceptionally hard time about it. I didn't want to go over points, etc...I simply wanted to do alow carb lifestyle within the WW point range. I wan't welcomed. Oh well, maybe that was God's way of keeping me out of something that would discourage me. I don't know, but I am seeking other ways for support and doing my best. Thanks for all the advice and links!

  • Renee,

I don't think any of us there thought that at all. LOL! I understand and there is a smart way to lower carbs (as a matter of fact I believe it is in the Week 6 booklet) and they should not have made you feel that way. It is still OP.

Personally I like the higher carb option myself but then again I have no problem with carbs.
  • Okay, what's BCB? I never heard of that one. I've stopped going to the official WW site because of just what all of you cited.

I like the Lifetimers/Maintenance board on 3FC; we're a small, but good group of people.
