Another Newbie Here! ? re: healthy oils
Hi all,
I'm new to the forum, and in fact joined specifically to ask one question: how do you get your healthy oils in? I am very happy to be able to check off every healthy check daily, except for those pesky oils. I just don't really eat much that incorporates those. Ideas please! |
I have heard of people putting coconut oils in their coffee and tea or putting it on toast like a spread.I haven't tried either. I usually just use it for all of my cooking.

In coffee?? Hmm... not sure I could make myself do that either. I use it on my face/skin. Wonder if I could just claim I absorb it? :D |
Coconut oil is not one of the healthy oils.
Healthy oils include olive, safflower, sunflower, flaxseed and canola, and you need 2 teaspoons a day. Try drizzling it on roasted veggies, in cottage cheese, yogurt and smoothies, on popcorn and putting it on your salad with your choice of vinegar. |
Coconut oil in tea is not that bad. But can you just take the pill version of oil like flax seed oil or something if u don't want to focus too much on trying to add it to foods.

Keli10801 is right on all accounts!
I get mine in by cooking with it, roasting veggies and salad dressings. |
