Another Newbie Here! ? re: healthy oils

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum, and in fact joined specifically to ask one question: how do you get your healthy oils in? I am very happy to be able to check off every healthy check daily, except for those pesky oils. I just don't really eat much that incorporates those.

Ideas please!

I have heard of people putting coconut oils in their coffee and tea or putting it on toast like a spread.I haven't tried either. I usually just use it for all of my cooking.

My mama puts it on toast but I just can't even imagine that.

In coffee?? Hmm... not sure I could make myself do that either.

I use it on my face/skin. Wonder if I could just claim I absorb it? :D

Coconut oil is not one of the healthy oils.
Healthy oils include olive, safflower, sunflower, flaxseed and canola, and you need 2 teaspoons a day.
Try drizzling it on roasted veggies, in cottage cheese, yogurt and smoothies, on popcorn and putting it on your salad with your choice of vinegar.

Coconut oil in tea is not that bad. But can you just take the pill version of oil like flax seed oil or something if u don't want to focus too much on trying to add it to foods.

Your healthy oils have to be in pourable form. Pills are not an acceptable form according to the Good Health Guidelines.

Keli10801 is right on all accounts!

I get mine in by cooking with it, roasting veggies and salad dressings.
