computing points - just one question
Hi! I just started ww today, and I'm already confused. I'm sure this has been asked a billion times, but I can't find it at ww.com or here, so hopefully I won't sound too dumb.
If the nutritional info says: Total Carbohydrate 28g Sugars 12g but the dietary fiber isn't listed, what do I enter as the fiber amount in the calculator? Thanks! Tanya |
If the dietary fibre is not given, just use 0 as the default. :)
Good luck- if you have any more questions feel free to post! |
The WWer point system is based on CALORIES,Total FAT GRAMS and FIBER....those are the 3 that are entered in order to come up with the points.......if less than one gram of fiber is listed or NO FIBER is listed.just put in zero.
Hope this helps! CIN |
PS I am assuming you are referring to a WWer Points calculator?????????????????????????? Cin

What is the product in question?

Thanks for the help. The product is Rice Dream (Vanilla Enhanced). It's a milk substitute. I was surprised that it wasn't in the ww food list, actually. It seems like practically everything under the sun is in there.
I think Tara was probably right, because I've lost three pounds since Monday. Yay! I can't believe how much energy I have. I lost weight a lot faster on Atkins, but by the third day, I could barely drag myself out of bed. This is wonderful! :D |
We've always been told at our meetings that if no fiber is listed you count it at zero. And yes, I tried Atkins too, but felt like I was dying. I have never felt so sick in my life. I truly was in pain and shaking.
|
Oh good. I'm entirely an online member, so I never got to hear the things they tell you in the meetings. I think that must be right, because if it was 16g of fiber, I'd be in trouble.
I walked to Subway today to get my sub. I feel so great, I'm just stunned. It's been so long since I had any energy. Are you going to donate a potato for every pound you lose, or a bag for every pound? That sounds like a great idea! |
If I lose 70 pounds, I will donate 70 pounds. It's one pound of potatoes for one pound of weight loss.

GibsonGirl, a women from my meeting lost about 45 pounds. She is a very outgoing person who likes being the centre of attention (in a good way). When she reached lifetime, her presentation was not the normal one. She came in with two huge bags of potatoes over her shoulders weighing 45 pounds. She then proceeded to take the potatoes out of the bag commenting on each of them in relation to her weight loss. She then gave one potato to everyone and told them to keep the potato in a sunny location so it will become smaller, just like we will become. (she is a teacher.)
It was very effective to see all those potatoes as a measurement for how much weight she lost. I like what you are doing. I may even borrow that idea. |
*blush* Sorry, that's what I meant. Not "one potato." I'm an airhead sometimes.
|
Not a prblem, Tanya!
Feel free to adopt the idea, Caledon! It is a great visual and will help those less fortunate at the same time. I just wanted to "see" how much weight I had lost and stood in the produce section of the supermarket and stared at bags of potatoes. That's when I decided to do that. |
