Shrewish- Good luck- I hope you were succesful in maintaining! What did you do on your vacation?
Bandit2-Thats great that you are so committed to your tapes! What is the weather like in you part of the country these days? It has been raining for the past couple of days here- was nice and cool when I went for my walk this morning!
WI tonight- hoping to maintain, but will take whatever happens with a smile, I really enjoyed my weekend and it was worth the consequences!:D

Shrewish 05-07-2003 10:20 AM

OK - I didn't maintain - I went up. I can lose it quickly though, this is temporary weight, not long-term weight. ;o)

What I did on my spring vacation.
By Shrewish

DH and I drove to Colorado to visit friends. Lots of fun, lots of great locally brewed beer, lots of laughing. It was a short visit but we'll definately go back.

SaskieMom 05-07-2003 01:12 PM

Shrewish- I am sure that gain will come off no problem for next week! :) I don't know about you, but any alcohol I drink usually earns me a gain too!
I was up .2# at WI last night. I am pretty happy with that, especially since I wore a heavier skirt than usual! It will be gone next week for sure!! I am happily back at it...I have a few goals for the week:
- increase my water intake even more, I have felt dehydrated for weeks!
- walk 5 times and do abs 3 times
- get in all my fruits and veggies!
Nothing difficult, I just need to focus!

Bandit2, you asked what we are eating- one of my favs is a small baked potato with canned chili (low fat, veggy, whatever!) with one lf cheese slice melted on top, and with nf sour cream and salsa on top of that! Very filling and yummy- unless you buy bad chili like I did last time...

Have a great day all!

bandit2 05-07-2003 01:47 PM

Saskiemom - Last couple of days has been rainy & overcast.
Your chili/potatoe sounds great - I will try it for sure.

Shrewish - sounds like your vacation was fun.

Keep up the good work. Bye for now.

SaskieMom 05-07-2003 10:53 PM

Bandit2-I tried the fish(5) tonight- actually I used garlic butter that I stumbled across at the store- and it was SO good!

I had that with steamed broccoli (0) a breadstick(3) and my own adaptation of the black bean/corn salad(2) that I found over in the side dishes threads. It was a very yummy meal, nice to try something different! I hate the smell of fish in my house, but it was definitely tasty enough to be worth it!

bandit2 05-08-2003 11:07 AM

Glad you tried the fish. Last night I picked up Wendy's & took to bf. We had grilled chicken sandwich, chili & shared baked potatoe. I put some of the chili on the potatoe with a little sour cream and it was very good.

I have also heard to soak the fish in some milk before cooking to get rid of the extra "fishy" smell or taste. It is worth a try.

I'm hoping my w/i is OK.

Keep up the good work, everyone & talk to you soon.

Whimsey 05-08-2003 11:35 AM

I am not loseing anything despite staying OP..I have had to have steroid injections in my spine and I know that has to be the reason...I had my second injection April 30...I doubt I will make my challenge..:(

SaskieMom 05-08-2003 12:29 PM

Good luck tonight Bandit2! I like Wendy's- I tried the Cajun Chicken Ceasar Salad last week, with low fat ranch, and it was great!!
Whimsey- The shots are out of your control, but try to stay OP- even if the #'s are not moving right now you can only be getting healthier! Eventually the numbers will move, so keep trying! Do the shots give you swelling or make you retain water?? Hang in there!

Whimsey 05-08-2003 01:26 PM

Neither....I think it is just the steroid....I gained 8 lbs with the first one and didn't even realize it....this second one I have really kept a close watch on...no gain (thank god) but a brick wall. :?:

SaskieMom 05-09-2003 01:15 AM

That really sucks- at least you haven't gained this time though!

I had a horrible evening. I had about 20 pts left for the day, saved because I knew I had a party to go to. I was in control, then heard sooome frustrating news from a friend...next thing I knew I plowed through crackers, cheeseball, veggie bars, veggies and dip and a piece of cheesecake!!! :ink: I am in the worst mood and just feel like kicking something HARD!!!

Hope everyone else had a better evening!!!

bandit2 05-12-2003 09:25 AM

Well, I had my w/i on Thurs & was soooo disappointed. I was up 1.8# - I knew I felt yukky but was totally bummed. And instead of re-focussing I ate alot of extra things over the weekend. So, today I got up & did my tape & packed my lunch box up for the day. I hate it when I am up even a little. But it should make me be extra careful but it doesn't.

Anyway, enough of my whining & now it makes it harder to make goal - but I am determined to reach it this time.

Bye for now.

SaskieMom 05-12-2003 03:24 PM

New week...new beginning!

Bandit2- I know how you feel- good luck getting back OP!

I just had 4 bad days and when I went walking this morning I was a big grouch!! I did walk, though, and I am back tracking. I am ready to work for my loss again, although I don't expect good news at the scale this week I can try harderfor one next week!! It was easier to stay OP when I felt super flabby- the closer I get to being back at goal the less motivation I have! Anyone else feel like that? :?:

SaskieMom 05-13-2003 10:52 PM

Hi all! How is the week going for everyone? I had WI tonight, and by some super duper fluke I lost .2#. I am going to try a lot harder this week!

bandit2 05-14-2003 04:21 PM

Hi everyone:

Saskiemom - good you were down this week. I have w/i tomorrow. Hoping to be better than last week (get crazy just thinking about it). Anyway, I have been doing my tapes and eating within my range. It just seems if I have anything over my range I gain & I don't even take the A/P into consideration.

Anway, good for you & everyone else who had a good w/i.
Check back in later.

SaskieMom 05-16-2003 02:04 PM

bandit2-how was wi? good, i hope! :crossed:
i have been having a great op week:D i haven't walked yet today, but will get it in sometime today...time is running out on ANOTHER challenge, how do you all thinnk you will do? I have 1.4 to go, and i am positive i will do it!!!
have a great weekend!

bandit2 05-20-2003 11:26 AM

I was down 1# at my w/i Thurs night. Didn't do to great over the weekend, though but will see this week.

Hope everyone has a great week.

SaskieMom 05-20-2003 05:15 PM

Congrats on your losss, Bandit2!
I just can't seem to get my act together lately! I do 2-3 days OP, then crash over the weekend. I have been lucky enough not to have gained so far, but I guess I will see if it has caught up with me tonight. I hate this- every week I dread WI. I used to be excited for it! I have had ONE good OP week in the past 4 months. Thats horrible!
Does anyone have any advice for me?:?:

SaskieMom 05-21-2003 12:00 AM

WI tonight- stayed exactly the same. WHEW!!! I have been at 160 for 4 weeks now, I really should try to get past it. This will be the week!!!

bandit2 05-23-2003 12:31 PM

Hi everyone:

Well, I gained back the # I lost last week. So I didn't lose anything for this challenge. Just up & down all through it.
I seem OK for a few days then have a horrible time over the weekend. This weekend my bf is away, so I am really going to be strict with myself.

How did everyone else do for the challenge? And are we up for another one?

Bye for now.

Whimsey 05-23-2003 01:10 PM

I did not lose anything....and I have been good....I know it is the injections....the steroid should be gone from my system...you would think....

retropinkgrl 05-23-2003 02:53 PM

HI all i was just being nosey and saw all of Whimseys posts about the steroids....I promise not to become a bother.

Whimsey- I dont know a whole lot about what the steroids do to your body but I do know that when my sister was young she had polymiositis and was on steroids for 8 years. SHe gained about 50 or more lbs from them. Even if you arent losing consider it a success that you arent gaining either. Its frustrating....but better to be a brick wall than to be the Expanding Woman, eh? Best wishes.

Hope everyone met their goals.

SaskieMom 05-23-2003 04:02 PM

There are still a few days left until Memorial Day- I really think if I stay OP this weekend I should make it!
Good luck this weekend, Bandit2!
Hang in there, Whimsey!
I am doing good this week- hungry, but motivated! Those last 12# better be ready to go away!

SaskieMom 05-23-2003 04:03 PM

BTW, Retropinkgrl, we love to hear from everyone-feel free to add your 2 cents any time!

Shrewish 05-27-2003 08:18 AM

I didn't make my Memorial day goal. I'm frustrated but only have myself to blame. I have to find another, attainable goal and date for myself.

I hope you all did better than I did. :)

SaskieMom 05-27-2003 11:25 AM

I will report back after tonight's WI regarding my succes with this
goal.

Shrewish- you are only 5# from your goal, don' t be too hard on yourself! Why don't you come on over to the One Week Challenge and see if that will work for you!

Whimsey 05-27-2003 04:35 PM

Yep Retropinkgrl, I did gain 8lbs with the first injection....gained it before I even realized it....with the secon injection, I was scared I would gain more so I have been super vigilent with my diet.....man.... it has been the pits!!!

Judmom 05-28-2003 02:04 AM

:yikes: I gained at least 5 pounds I am under alot of stress lately and have been very depressed. I have set goal dates for my self but I am now going to join the weekly challanges.

SaskieMom 05-28-2003 12:25 PM

I made it! :D My goal was 159.0 and I weighed in at 158.4...now I have to go check my reward for myself!
Don't worry about the gains, keep working and it will come off!
