What kind of bread do you eat?

I don't eat *much* bread. I might have a slice of toast for breakfast, and maybe a sandwich for lunch. So, the grand total of bread slices I eat in a day would be 4, max. But I do wonder about which bread is "best", you know? I'm trying to up my fibre intake a fair bit (although I know I need to add it slowly) and I'm looking for a bread that is low in points but high in fibre. I'll admit that I'm a white bread addict, but I'm willing to try other kinds.

Can anyone offer recommendations? I'm making up a healthy foods shopping list for payday. *L*

Light breads are crap and don't fill you up. I like whole grain breads. The slices are bigger and I can eat half a sandwich and be full (or 1 slice of toast). Remember you can see actual pieces of the grain in a whole grain bread. Wheat bread is not whole grain.

I use these: http://oroweat.com/products/sandwich...00-whole-wheat

I usually will only but anything 100% whole wheat. And I agree with quilter, the whole grain kind with the pieces are the most filling and best for you. They are really yummy too!

Ezekiel 4:9 bread http://www.foodforlife.com/about_us/ezekiel-49
A sprouted whole grain bread. Also anything by Food For Life Bakery.

I used village hearth light italian bread - mostly because it's 40 cals/slice and a point for two slices I believe. 2g fiber/slice - not a lot. I guess I don't eat enough bread to worry about upping my fiber from there.

Arnold's used to have some double fiber breads, we slowly got off bread.

We use wraps sometimes, and only buy bread once in awhile. When you don't eat it for awhile it seems like a real treat like a donut or somethings.

We were watching Chris Powell on Dr. Oz the other day, one of the things he did was use a couple lettuce leaves for a wrap.

I don't eat bread often ...not because I avoid it, I just choose meals that don't require it. When I do it is whole grain/fiber which one slice will normally fill me up. Lettuce wrapes are awesome! and if you stuff them with grilled peppers, onion, cabbage, carrot ....hevean!

I'm not on WW, so I don't know if my opinion counts, but I also eat Ezekiel bread if I do eat bread. It's great because it keeps in the freezer. I only eat bread about once a week or once every other week, so it works out for me having it in the freezer. It also makes the best toast!
I also eat Dave's Killer bread, but I think it's more local to my region.

I've always eaten whole grain bread because I prefer the taste of it. It's a bonus that it's healthy too. I always thought that white bread was bland.:)

OH how I love white bread, let me count the ways. But I don't eat it. I eat Ezekial sprouted grains. Love it, and like somebody else said, it stores in the freezer, and I just take out a little at a time. It's not soft like regular bread, so freezing doesn't take away from the texture. And I almost always toast it first, anyway. It is much kinder to my insulin resistance - no flour! Plus, the grains take longer to digest, so it keeps me satisfied longer. And the grains are a complete source of protein.
