Question about Powerade
I used to drink a lot of Pepsi everyday but I recently switched to water. Sometimes, I get a little bored and I have about 12 oz of Powerade. The online calculator said it is 2 points. Is this just as bad as drinking a pop though? I know it has a lot of sugar in it.
Thanks. |
I'd say they're pretty much the same! Just sugar water. The only difference is that soda is carbonated. :(

Yeah, it's still just as bad as pop - lots of sugar and some of those drinks have a lot more sodium than regular pop does. Why not try something like Crystal Light if you are looking for flavor? It helped me break the regular pop chains pretty handily.

Powerade has just as much sugar as soda. I drink diet soda because I hate water and it's really the only vice I have.
|
Have you considered flavored carbonated water? I like drinking that when I need a break from regular water, although sometimes I do drink a diet soda every now and then. Chrystal Light is good, too, although I find some of the flavors a little too sweet.

Lots of choices, lots of options. I prefer to EAT my point, not drink them :) Keeps me fuller longer. Also, if I drink sweet things, I crave sweets more. What I can have for 2PP instead:

I agree with all of your suggestions FlygURL My favorite has to be fresh lime juice in my water I use that when I go workout as my hydrating treat

Thanks for the suggestions/advice!

Thanks for all the options!

Have you tried Powerade Zero? They are 0 points (I drink the mixed berries one) They are not as sweet as regular Powerades but are better then plain water. Also I have been able to get 32oz bottles for $0.88 on sale.

Yes, unfortunately it is just as bad as soda. I don't understand how they can market some of these products to appear somewhat healthy. It all comes down to reading the labels.
I was a big Coca-Cola drinker for a long time. I've just recently discovered Coke Zero and Coke Zero Cherry (which tastes mucho better!) I have also started buying those little flavor packets that you can add to your bottles of water. I don't use those frequently though, usually when I want something different. Do you like iced tea at all? I like to save my plastic water bottles, fill them with fresh brewed iced tea, then freeze. I pack them in my lunches (helps keep things cool) and it's something different to drink. :) |
