Weeklies causing a plateau?

So I have been on weight watchers since January and have lost 32lbs to date! It is really exciting but I'm not sure what is happening now. I usually use half my weeklies give or take, but for the past 6 weeks I have going up and down within the same 1-2lbs. I measure and track everything! I have recently become unemployed and I'm wondering if maybe now I should cut my weeklies without the added exercise I was achieving at work.

I am trying out the Wendie plan for this week and possibly next and then after if that doesn't work I might just stick to only my dailies.

I'm just wondering if I am now at the point where I have lost enough weight to where my body can no longer keep losing with the extra points? I still have about 30 more lbs to go to where I will be in a healthy weight range for my age and height, but am I now too 'small' to effectively be using weeklies?

I would make sure you're measuring things properly and getting all the GHGs before you cut weeklies and then before that, I'd actually add in more for a few weeks to see what happens first.

I have a food scale and a measuring cups/spoons so I do make sure to measure everything to a tee. And if I have any bites/licks/taste I make sure to account for those too! I'm just wondering if the drop in my physical activity is now negating how many weeklies I REALLY should be eating.

I think the reduction of activity could be the answer. I am in a similar position right now with the onset of winter here I am not walking or cycling every day like I did on warmer days and am yoyoing a couple of annoying kilo. I think I need to kick start the PP plan again.

Can you up your exercise at home? Go for walks/jogs?

Also if you are stressed from being unemployed or not sleeping well, that can cause your body to hold on to weight.

I found the more I lost, the less weeklies I could use.

Now at goal I can't use them at all without gaining.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions!

I will be spending more time at the gym. I am out of school for the semester so I have free time again to be able to go on a consistent basis.

I am going to try the Wendie plan for a couple weeks and see if that works for me otherwise I am going to try to ease up on weeklies and see if that helps!

Have you been adjusting your points according to etools?

I started out at 26 daily points so other than just using my weeklies I don't mess with those.

I'm trying not to be impatient. I know that the fact that I'm maintaining is pretty awesome considering that is technically the hardest part of weightloss, I just don't want to be stuck at this weight for another 6 weeks.

I decided to change around my diet and add in different veggies/fruits instead of eating the same things. I'm hoping with trying out Wendie, kicking up my workouts, and adjusting the content of my menu that I can break thru this!

I guess I just got spoiled in losing most weeks and then just stopping lol

Yeah I don't use the weeklies hardly at all. I do eat what I earn with activity points so its kind of a reward system.

Just wanted to update. I did the Wendie plan (weight watcher version of calorie zig-zagging) and dropped 3.4lbs this week! My points just reset and I haven't been hungry enough to dip into my weeklies so I'm curious to see how my body will react to it next week!

Great Job I am glad that is working for you! I have done that same thing a many time or two LOL. Right now I am trying to bounce back from a 3-4 lbs gain over the past 4 weeks.

amandie 06-14-2012 02:23 PM

Awesome, tinkerbell!!!

Nancy- you can beat those 3-4lbs! Great progress from 177 though!
