Just joined WW! little confused
Hello all!
I just joined WW yesterday with one of my parents. I am hoping this will help me out in my weight loss journey. I've found it all a bit confusing but I guess that will take some time. I am not sure where the problem is and why I am gaining weight. I hope WW can give me the needed information to take the next step to losing weight! And I wonder if weight watchers is right for me. I am fairly active and try to incorporate all the good foods. I just want to drop a few sizes so much. Do you have to further subscribe to use their etools? I can't wait for this journey. |
Did you join at a meeting or online?
Online members get eTools as part of their plan, meeting members have to get eTools separately or get the monthly pass which includes meetings & eTools and is actually the cheaper way. I lost over 55lb with WW and I love the program, so much so I want to work for them. If you work the plan, it will work for you. My biggest tips: 1. Track EVERYTHING! 2. Weigh & measure everything, and I mean everything. A set of kitchen scales and measuring cups & spoons will be your most valuable tools. 3. If you mess up, just get back on track. 4. Ask for help if you need it. |
If you're going to meetings at a coporate owned location, I recommend getting the monthly pass. As the poster above said, it's cheaper and includes eTools. This was the option I did back in Atlanta. Now I live in Nashville and we only have franchise owned locations that make you buy etools separately.

I got my Membership at a meeting. I signed up for 12 weeks. So far I'm not sure what will happen

The Monthly Pass is fantastic. I wonder if you could call customer service and have it converted over?

I am doing WW at a meeting site, not online and its working great for me. I don't use nor have purchased the eTools but I do track what i eat, measure, record etc. and also track and record my exercise points. I agree with what everyone has said above, if you work it, it WILL work for you. I'm down 40 lbs since 12/11.
Best of luck to you!! |
I get a discount through my insurer, HAP, and don't have eTools. I track with the paper tracker every day and like the accountability.
As long as you get in your recommended healthy oils, dairy, fruits, veggies and keep portion sizes down in addition to getting active- the plan Will work for you! :) It's working for me and it's something I see myself doing the rest of my life. I've lost 45 lbs since the end of Jan- more than I've ever lost and I'm not thinking about what kinds of crap I can eat when done.... |
Hi Laura, I'm doing the same thing - discount through HAP. LOL!
|
I actually love WW so far. I just joined a couple weeks ago and I've lost 5 lbs already. It's difficult, though, when I'm used to eating soooo much more food. If it's not working for you then you should go and talk to someone at one of the centers. The main thing that I found helpful were the eTools, because I'm on the go constantly and having my food diary on hand at all times is perfect. Especially if I'm wondering how many points something will be when I'm thinking about ordering lunch or something. It really puts everything into perspective. I hope it works out better for you in the future! Of course you have to find the right thing that works for you.

Hi Tikanique! :) I wish the deal lasted longer than 4 times. I'm already worried about what it'll cost me once the HAP discount ends. :(
I'm on wk 21 now and love it. I think if I had e-Tools, I'd slack off more. Seeing that tracker on the counter next to my scale keeps me on-program. And the meetings (to me) and soooo important! I get so much support there and gain new ideas about ways to change up recipes, exercise routines, and it really helps me to hear others talk about their success and failures- because usually they share what's helped get them back on track, too. :) Good luck, withinmygrasp, I bet you'll do great! :) |
