How to up my points eaten...with healthy foods?

Hi all, I'm new here. I just (re)started WW on Monday and I'm having a hard time figuring out healthy ways to eat all of my points - hoping you can give me some suggestions. I'm heavy and exclusively breastfeeding, so I get a bunch (48). This week we've had pizza, Chinese food, cookies - really doesn't seem healthy at all and yet I've only used 6 of my weeklies so far. We already use real butter and real sugar for most things, and we eat full-fat cheese and salad dressings and what not. I've been doing pretty well at getting my healthy checks in, including the extras WW suggest for nursing moms, and I'm snacking several times a day. Thanks in advance for the input!

Wow what a problem to have....lol. And congrats on the baby.
Off the top of my head, as I would really have to sit down and think about this. I would suggest sauces, gravey so on. Alfredo for pastas, Hollandaise Sauce for veggies, or on an egg in the morning. These can of additions to a meal can add a lot of tastie points.

whoa, I will have to politely disagree with the above suggestion :D All of that saturated fat! Not good for you no matter how many points you need to eat. Go for healthy fats, like oily fish (salmon, mackerel, sardines), avocados, nuts, nut butters, olive oil, etc...

I am also a fan of coconut oil. Although it is a saturated fat, it is plant-based and appears to have some health benefits. And it happens to be delicious!

A nice steak every now & then maybe?

Thanks, Sally - eggs are a really good idea. I'm sure I could use more protein. I'm hesitant to use sauces and what not though - I'd hate to get in the habit of eating them now knowing that I'd be cutting them out again when DS starts solids/weans. I appreciate the suggestions, though!

Wicked - thanks to you also. I don't eat fish or avocados, but I can definitely add some nuts to my diet. I eat PB and olive oil already, though usually not much more than my 3 tsp a day. What do you do with coconut oil?

I still make those sauces but have made them with reduced fat and calories. Perhaps after altering them they are not as thick and rich, but it can be done.

I use it to saute vegetables mostly. It gives a nice light coconutty flavor... it can also be used as a substitute for butter in baking because it is solid at room temp like butter is.... I haven't really tried it because I'm not much of a baker, but I bet it would be tasty! The extra virgin kind is best, btw.

Nuts and beans are good options throw some kidney beans in your salads or some chopped almonds I also would live to be able to add dried cranberries to salads as well. Also whole milk as opposed to reduced fat.

What about a sandwich whith whole weath bread, bananas slice honey and penut butter?! My favorite right now lol!

Nuts are high calorie but very good for you. It is what I eat for my main snack. Eat lots of protein as well. Maybe put cheese on sandwiches for example. Peanut butter. I would stay away from the high refined carbs.
