back again :)
As my title says, I'm a serial rejoiner :) I lost quite a bit of weight on WW in the past (on the wonderful old exchange plan), kept it off for five years, then ballooned to my start weight. I really don't remember what I weighed when I first joined 3FC. I know I've gained since I first came (not 3FC's fault, of course!). I gained by putting on 5 to 6 pounds a year and not taking it off -- stupid, no? I've lost 39 pounds since 2005, which is ridiculously slow, but better than gaining another 30-35 pounds during that time.
I've done this mostly through WW, with several switches to one low carb plan or the other. I lose like magic on low carb, but can't sustain it. I go back to WW and start eating too many carbs. This time, I hope I will find the balance. I'm doing WW online. I went back to my old meeting, but this group talks about food constantly, and how to substitute a low fat chocolate concoction for a beloved high fat one, and this isn't helpful for me. It's the only meeting I can count on being able to attend regularly, so I'll go it alone. I'm very self-motivated, and I've always been successful on WW when I've focused on it, so I'm counting on that this time. |
Hi Xan and welcome back!
Happy to have you join in with us on your journey :) I'm 100% behind you that losing a few pounds each year or even maintaining is SO MUCH BETTER than gaining anything. And losing almost 40 pounds, regardless of the length of time it took, is a success. One that you should feel proud of! I know that there are a few other members who incorporate low carb or who watch their carb intake carefully while at the same time count Points on WW, so you might find them around the boards, as well. You certainly aren't alone in this on 3FC, as you already know! I wish you all the best with your plans, and hope to see you around~ |
Thanks, Lovely. So far so good! I do find that if I have protein for breakfast and for lunch, the day goes better than if I don't. I also try to avoid having a lot of carbs in the evening. I know this doesn't work for everyone, but we all have to find what works.
