WW on Pinterest
 

One of my co-workers just pointed out that Weight Watchers has a page on pinterest now - Just in case you didn't know & are interested in following them. It seems to be fairly new because they don't have a lot of followers yet (59 a few minutes ago)

Anywhere I can get more recipies with pp already calculated the better :-)

I keep hearing about pinterest but have no idea what it is. What is it?

They describe themselves as a virtual pin board.

I usually describe it to people as visual bookmarks - that can be shared with other people. You can have boards for different things such as recipes, vacation spots you want to visit, books you want to read, art you like... anything really.

I warn you however, it can be addictive. :-)

I don't get it...do you just look for things?

I asked the same think on my FB the other day, "What's the point of pinterest?" I had a couple of friends respond to how neat it was and sent me an invite.

Yes, you just look at things, but it's a nice way to save ideas of things you'd like to do or maybe recipes you'd like to try. One of my bulletin boards is Dream Home. Hubby and I talk about some day building a home and how we'd like to have certain things in it. When the time comes, I'll never remember any of it. So with this, if I see things that would be cool to have in our dream home, I can pin it and refer to it another time. In the one night I've looked at it, I pinned several recipes, some home organizational ideas I'd like to try, and a couple of kids things that I think would be helpful.

Again, I'm just a rookie and have yet to really dive into it. I'd be happy to send an invite if someone wants it. I don't know the rules on that, though. Am I limited in the number of invites I have? I don't receive an incentive or anything, would I? I'm guessing if it's incentivized, I shouldn't offer invites on this site??

Well I requested an invoice from them but didn't get anything...I would love to have [email protected]

LisaLou - There's not an incentive for sending invites or for people joining. Think of it kind of like when Gmail (or Google +) used to be invite only.

I've been on it for a few months and there's still so much I'm still learning about it. Of course I don't get on it everyday.

okay I'm in...now what? If I do a search for weight watchers can I follow or do I have to pin certain recipes?

You can search for Weight Watchers in the search field then you can follow all of the boards or pick and choose the boards you want to follow.

well I am so excited about this now...I was messing around last night on it.

I am throwing a surprise baby shower next weekend and I found the mom to be on pintrest and all her ideas of the shower she wants to throw herself next month!!! SCORE!

That's awesome. I was telling hubby about it and how I can put a "gift ideas" bulletin board on there and he can always know what to buy for me. :D

Hmm. I'm a bit new to Pinterest, so I guess I don't get how you'd get recipes from the WW "board" over there. All I'm seeing are pictures of foods...am I missing something? I mean, I thought that Pinterest was basically just composed of a lot of pictures of various things.

ETA: Never mind. Holy cow, I'm a bit dim. *L* Figured it out!

YES ! CLICK ON THE PHOTOS!!! it then pulls up a larger photo and you can clink again and it takes to straight to the page for the recipe !

TO ANOTHER POSTER... the reason for pintrest is kinda th same as having bookmarks or favorite saved to your computer only this way you can share then with the WORLD ! I have many boards my favs are ww recipes , my cooking board and my hopes and dreams board

I just signed up for a Pinterest account and it's a lot of fun searching for different things. I don't really "get" it yet...but it's a fun way to kill time ;)

I have a Weight Loss board, Motivational Quotes board, Places I Want to Go board, and a Figure Skating board. I think I might make some new boards this weekend!

I am a pinterest addict. It is ok though. I find all of my favorite recipes and ideas for my son through there. if anyone wants to add me look up Elizabeth Monge but be warned, I pin a LOT

okay I don't think my search is working right...I use to get TONS of stuff when searching but now when I search for say weight watchers I get weird stuff.

Found another thing. If you search for Weight Watchers and instead of clicking on boards you click on people, there are TONS of recipes that come up under the two usernames that involve WW. :)
