12 Week Challenge-Week #7

  • We are now officially on the other side of halfway... How is everyone doing?
What are your biggest obstacles to weight loss OR maintenance? How do you deal with these obstacles?

Right now my biggest obstacle is hunger. I know all the tricks with water, and lots of fiber, but the past week has been really difficult! I have been lucky, and have had good losses, even though I have been over my pts range for 2 weeks now. I just know that if I don't get it under control the losses will probably stop!
My methods for dealing with the hunger obstacle have involved the usual- tons of water, tons of fiber, tons of 0 pts veggies...and getting away from the food! It is difficult with a baby, but I find I just have to get out of the house in the afternoon. If I am distracted it is much easier to cope!
My other big obstacle is DH...he eats absolutely the opposite foods that I do, so there are usually tempations all around! Normally they are no problem, but when I am this hungry...look out!

Those are my obstacles and how I cope! What about you?
  • Saskie: Great topic this week!

My biggest obstacle has been mindless eating and not getting my walking in. Like you, I know what to eat, how much water I need to drink, but yet it seems to have slipped by the wayside. I'm frustrated and need to get a grip and forge ahead. I notice from looking at my journal that I've been lacking vegetables and I know they help me feel full. I need to do an overhaul of my menu. My weight has been staying right around 140 and I'm not happy with that because I've been able to maintain 137 pretty much all last year up until December and then I managed to let my weight creep up.

So here's my plan of action: I will plan my meals better and make sure that I'm getting all my servings of veggies in and that the foods I have on hand will keep me satisfied. I also need to get myself back into my walking regimen. I've really slacked off here with the weather.

I had a goal this past week of drinking more water, which I was able to do. I'm not sure how I'll do at the scale today since next week is TOM and I usually tend to gain the week before. My scale at home is showing a small gain (I'm hoping it's wrong ) but in any case I'll be at my meeting today at noon.
