I wonder if there is a recipe out there to make homemade veggie burgers? It would probably be something you could make up a batch and freeze?

I understand how being around people who abuse the system makes you not want to use it yourself. But you know, you've paid into the system and you'll only use what you can while you need it. When you are in better financial situations, you can donate to the charities that help you out so you won't feel bad.

Maybe get you dh and kids to do some volunteer work at the local food pantry while your working those long hours.

I'm sorry to hear you're having a rough time. I've been through some rough times as well and what helps me is to keep in mind that all "this" is temporary. Also remember that exercise helps to combat depression. I know it may seem like you won't have the time for it but it's important to make time as it has it does have health benefits beyond losing weight. You've come a long way with your weight loss -- congratulations!!! There is no need to go backward now.

Please have your husband file for unemployment benefits. That's right -- it's a BENEFIT, not a system (and not to be confused with Social Security or welfare). His former employer has to pay the insurance premium for employees who need to file a claim when they become unemployed. Employees don't pay into unemployment insurance at all. Unless it's different in your state but I don't think so.
