Proatthis thats great news!!:bravo: Good luck with the new job!!
And wow great weight loss!! 3 pounds in 2 weeks is great!

As for me, my weight loss has slowed down..I think its from not being totally accurate with my tracking and to many "treats" even if they are counted.. I'm at high weight (258) so I should still be losing at least a pound a week..

Oh well, as long as I keep on losing it should be good..I've drastically changed what I eat in the last month..an improvement..this lifestyle thing is working...

Proatthis, congrats for you new job AND your loss! What a good way to put some joy in the week!

Oneuponadrive, taking a break is sometimes as good for your weight loss process than working out :)

SLIMplicity, a loss is still a loss! Just keep looking forward and everything we'll be fine :) Keep up the good work!

Thanks slimplicity and Turbo for the support!

Weight loss is challenging but the support from these boards and my meetings help me so much.

Slim don't think you should lose a certain amount each week. As long as the general trend is down and your trying every day to live healthy your doing great!

Sounds like everyone had a great weekend! We did as well! Pretty low key, hung out around home with the kids, enjoyed the nice seasonal weather outside, and cleaned house!

This week has been busy so far, I start my new job on Monday (the first actual "job" I've had outside the home since my 8 year old son was born!) so I've been getting daycare and everything lined up, had orientation yesterday and just trying to get mentally prepared for what I hear is very tough training!

My classes also start back up tomorrow, which with training and that work load I'm going to be extremely overwhelmed until I get into a good routine. The kids started school last week and are LOVING it, I'm so glad it's not a fight to get them to get up and go every morning, makes things so much easier!

So excited to start my healthy lifestyle journey this week, my official start date is Sunday, but I'm going to be unofficially starting tomorrow, I need to get back into a good habit of exercise, it always makes me feel so much better!

Weekly chat seems to be dead.

I'm all alone here. Boohoo. :(

I'm here! Exciting week here in Jersey. First an earthquake and we'll be getting hit with Hurricane Irene this weekend. What that means is plenty of time being stuck in the house trying NOT to eat constantly! Hopefully the damage will be minimal. Normally hurricanes are pretty low key by the time they get to us but this one sounds scary. :(

In other news, I hit my 20 pound loss today (since starting WW). I'm ecstatic!

TurboMammoth 08-25-2011 07:52 PM

Congrats on the 20, OnceUponADrive :)

Irene is supposed to come up here, but we'll only get a bit of wind and rain... Nothing compared to you in the States..

Wow that is awesome! Congrats!!

I'm in the same boat as you OnceUponADrive!
My husband is going to camp out at the fire station all weekend for the calls. I'm making the boys beef stew and cookies and I'm glad they'll both be at the station. Then I'll be here by my lonesome. I'm glad he's a fire fighter, but I don't think he thought this one through... I don't know how to use the generator, I haven't been in a hurricane since I was a child and my parents prepped and took care of everything. My preparing for the hurricane has been to get some bottled water, make sure the batteries are on the counter, make sure the flash lights have new batteries, find some books and get buckets ready to fill with water. :/

Proatthis 08-26-2011 09:53 AM

Congrats Onceuponadrive on your 20 pound loss!

Hugs to those prepping for hurricanes and such. I hope everyone is ok. They tried to get us to prep for one here. But we had nothing more than a light show and some bad rain.

Good luck to all of you who are getting ready for the hurricaine!

I was down 2.8 lbs this morning at my weekly WI. It feels good to be out of this 7 weeks plateau :/

I got a Garmin watch to run yesterday (older model with a HUuuuuuge discount on) and I'm really excited to try it tonight :)

So... I gained 4.8 lbs this week, sigh. Granted some of that is probably because I'm also dehydrated and PMSing but... it hurt to see that on the scale. I need a reboot. Stupid feelings, stupid men.... I let it get to me.

Today is not my usual weigh in day but I changed it because I start again today. I have come way to far to do this to myself, again.

Proatthis 08-26-2011 10:47 AM

Turbo congrats on the big loss this week. That's great. What did yo do do get that kind of loss? :carrot:

And Patchymama  to you. It sounds like you had a bit of a struggle this week. We are all here for support if you need it.

Sorry Patchymama  :( . I think it's great that you are starting fresh and so determined. What are your goals for the week?
