Weekly Chat - Aug 13th -> Aug 20th
Hi Chicks! How is everyone doing this week? This has been a spectacular week for me! It was my birthday on thursday...(turned 32 wow), i bought a new 2011 car on my birthday... my very first brand new car from a dealership!!! yaaay!!! and i lose 1.5lbs yesterday at WI, which put me at 40lbs loss total. I am very proud of myself, i never in a million thought i would be 40lbs lighter so soon. in a little over 6 months, i feel i have come so far. I am so so so motivated to get this done. I wanna see my pictures up on the goal threads by next summer :) Im going to do this!
|
Wow, what a great week mercury blue! Happy Birthday and Congrats all in one! :carrot:
I'm excited this week, I'm going on a road trip to visit someone in California. So freaking excited I can barely stand it :) Its a huge step in my journey of self acceptance to go and I can't wait to see him. I was super productive yesterday (cleaned and sewed myself a messenger bag) but the downside is that I ate crap and feel ****ty today. ugh. |
Thanks Patchy :D You live in Vegas?! Thats awesome! Have you ever gone to that gun store there? I think its off Tropicana or something like that. My boyfriend and i are hoping to get out there soon and that gun shop is the top of our list. I totally wanna cross off "I have shot a machine gun" off my list of things to do lol.
California sounds pretty awesome too! Have a really awesome time there. Grats on your 60lb loss too girl! wow i cant wait to get there too. I think we are the same weight right now! exciting :D |
Congrats, mercury and happy birthday! I'll be 32 in October although I still feel the same as I did in my early twenties! Kinda makes me sad to think I spent SO much of my life overweight....but at least I'm finally doing something about it! I'm 3 pounds away from losing 20 and I know it's not good to expect too much but I SO want to hit it this week! I know it's unlikely, but a girl can dream!

Dont put too much pressure on yourself to lose those 3lbs. Worst thing to do is set yourself up for it to not work out the way you want it to. Sounds like your doing an awesome job so far :) |
OMG mercuryblue! First, happy birthday :) And that is so awesome for your 40 lbs lost!! Congratulations! You're such an inspiration! What brand of car did you bought? I understand how excited you must be about that, there's nothing like new car smell ;)
I managed to kick away all the weight I gained during my vacations but I'm like super stressed out, I have 3 going out in restaurent planned for next week (going to see my cousin to see Blink 182 show YAY, the next day having dinner with a friend who's moving away, and the next day I have a dinner with my hockey field team). I'll have to make some really wise choices but I'm going to have a lot of pressure. The friend who is moving away always want to get bottles of wine and always blame me when I bail on that... I'm not looking forwart this dinner at all. :( |
Quote:
Dont worry about your dinners out, never stress girl. When i have to go out for dinners i eat real light during the day (zero point stuff - veggies/fruits is what i normally do), then i will pick something lighter from the menu. I went out for lunch and for dinner on my Bday, but i tried to keep it under control. For lunch i had an awesome salad with turkey deli meat on it, I ate half a peice of bread and gave the rest to my boyfriend lol. I felt i did ok. I know you can too. As far as the wine goes, friends should always understand when you tell them "no" if you dont wanna eat something. Especially if they know your trying to cut down and eat well, they shouldnt expect you to drink it! So dont feel pressured. Let us know how it goes! :dizzy: |

For the dinners, I bought a huge box of salads and a lot of veggies so I can have some really low points lunch for the 3 days of dinning out and I'll try to have something light from the menu. Still, we're going to eat italian and at the Baton Rouge the next days.. Their menus basically scream ''Hellooooooooooooo, carbs!'' For the friend, she knows I'm on WW and everytimes she sees me she's like ''wow it really shows, good for you, can you talk to my bf about it lol'' etc etc. And then when I want to bail on sometimes like wine it's like the end of the world. Though lately she's the one whose been complaining that she started to gain pounds... But do not blame the alcool, can't be the alcool right!?? :O lol |
i found some wireless from the neighbours, in the back yard, so i thought i'd come on here, say, hi, hello. Im not MIA =p
but my diet is non-existant. And i dont like it. i havent weighed myself in about 2-3 weeks and i havent watched what i eat. I try but by night time, when im alone in this empty house, and the baby is asleep, i just eat. Pure boredom. >_<; I've gotten back into Zumba this week, so at least im trying to stop it somewhere, but every day i try to not over indulged, i do it. :( that is all. I hope venting it will mentally help me follow through. Thank you for readin, and i hope to steal this person internet more often. LOl |
Jinksie,
You are so funny! I think you should invite some friends over and play some cards or something. Also, I started to learn to knit last year, keeps the hands busy in the evening. Hug the baby! |
It's cool to have news from you, Jinksie! :) Hang on to the Internet stealing! yay! LOL
|
Ya we missed you Jinksie :) Hope all is well for you right now.
|
I am down FORTY!!!!!! 40.8 actually. I am so excited.
I truly think having this forum has played a part in my success.... So thanks, yall!! |
thanks all.
so i did it, i weighed myself this morning. I've gained 3lbs. Which you could say wasnt too bad in the scheme of things, but it is just 3lbs too much! The only thing i've eaten today was at Golden Corral, cos i mowed someone's lawn - and i didnt over do it there, and im have no intentions of eating more... I will be stern with myself. I used to crochet, but seeing as i'll probably be moving in about a month, i got rid of all those kinds of things. Perhaps a little ahead of myself. YAY CATA :carrot: |
Congrats, catahoula!! Forty! Such a milestone! And you're so close to your goal :)
I used to know how to crochet, but I kinda forgot how to start the dam* thing. And well, I only do scarf. Lots and lots of scarves. lol |

Congrats Catahoula!
I reached a goal today too. I have lost 5%! The key to this weeks loss was eating all of my points. |
Can I join?
I need some extra support. I do well when the week starts, eating right, exercise, drinking lots of water, etc. But come Friday night, Saturday and Sunday (when hubby is home) I "splurge" and sometimes I go over the points. DAMNIT!! I asked my husband this weekend if he'd do WW with me and he declined. I control all my meals. But then during the weekend he wants pizza and junk and I give in because I do like it... Come Saturday afternoon, I stop tracking because I think I've gone over my points anyway and I feel like what would it matter anyway. That is partially why I started doing Monday evening meetings, because I thought it would help. Not so sure it is, but I really love the leader so I'm not going to change meetings again. I tried navigating the WW boards, but they are hard to follow/find and not very user friendly. Does anyone have recipes for pizza and other comfort foods that are lower in fat and carbs than their original versions? |
MrsD my dh loves pizza and eating out too. It's hard to always turn that stuff down. So I now make my own pizza and enjoy it while he eats his.
I take a WW wrap spread 1T tomato paste top with whatever toppings you like. I love lots of veggies I don't need meat. But you could have ham or something like that. And 1oz skim cheese. I put it in the oven for 10 and broil if I need too. Depending on you toppings it could be as low as 4 points or with meat it could be 5 or 6. Very satisfying and if you need to (sometimes I do) you can have 2! |
Hey MrsD2008! I do my own pizza sauce with fresh cherry tomatoes, garlic, onion and a bit a balsamic vinager. Then I'd put pastrami, spinach, pepper, onion, mushroom and lowfat feta cheeze. :) It usually turn around 7 or 8 points for a quarter of pizza :)
|
I went to see Blink 182 last night (I'm feeling like I'm 15 again today lol), and we needed to eat really quickly before the show, so we want to a fast food plate. I had planned this so I had a lot of points lefts for the supper, but I went over by 8 points anyway.
I could have taken a salad, but I went for the burger... I'm not happy with myself today :( |
Hello everyone! I'm new to this group, but not new to 3FC (I've been a member here for twelve years). :) I rejoined Weight Watchers yesterday for the LAST TIME, and I'm feeling very motivated! I have 150 pounds to lose, so I'm in this for the long haul, but I'm ready. :D
A little about me ... I've been married seventeen years to my best friend and we have two boys (ages 14 and 10). I'm a full-time homemaker and romance author, and when I'm not busy with my family, you can usually find me writing. I look forward to getting to know all of you! :D |
Welcome Stephanie!
I wish you all the success with weight watchers! You will reach your goals. I too joined WW this year May 30 for the last time! I have since lost 14 pounds with 17.5 to go. I'm fine with slow and steady. I personally am really enjoying the new points plus program and I feel like I am having great results. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Oh and I have 2 girls ages 14 and 10. And married to my best friend for 15 years. We a little bit in common. |
I slipped up last night. I'm not sure what came over me but right before bed I had two WW brownies and a bag of snackwells caramel fudge popcorn. I had a VERY unsatisfying lunch and dinner yesterday and I only ate half of each. SO that combined with it being my TOM probably just pushed me over the edge. I only went over my daily points by 2, but I feel guilty that it was so much junk. Other than that it's been a great week for me though!
|
i "feel" like i overate this week. Like too many carbs or something. Will see on Saturday, so i know what ya feel like. However, your snacks OnceUponADrive, dont sound like they were terribly bad for you, especially if you didnt eat well all day. I wouldnt sweat it, bet you did great.
|
I hope so, but my "monthly blessing" is really mucking up my insides this week so I don't feel that great. We'll see what happens when I hit the scale today!
|
Thanks for the ideas on pizza. It reminded me of something my mom and I used to make. My mom saw an infomercial for a cooking gadget, Express 101. She got 1, which was B1G1, so I got one too. I was in HS and was going to take mine to college. But, I would "saute" veggies in the wells, then scoop out. I'd fit two mini pita pockets with veggies, homemade pizza sauce and some cheese. Then put back in the wells of the cooker and let the cheese melt and the sauce get warm. They were really good and I think it might satisfy me when it comes to pizza. Maybe I'll try it this weekend, even if hubby doesn't have "regular" pizza. LOL.
They would be about 6 PP. 2 points for the pita, 2 for the sauce and 2 for the cheese. The rest would be zero points! Thanks for the ideas ladies!! Turbomammoth, did you use weeklies? Did you dance at the concert? You might have earned at least 2 AP to cover what you used! |
Quote:
But it is true that I dance! I jumped around for more than an hour. ;) I guess it can make me feel better for my tuesday tracker, but I have no excuse for my really bad choice at the italien restaurent last night. LOL |
MrsD, I have the Express 101 too! I love all those infomercial cooking gadgets. I used it twice and it has been sitting in my cabinet ever since. I should bring it back out again!
On another note, I hit my 10% today! I'm SO happy! I'm only about a pound and a half away from losing 20 now and I'm hoping I'll hit that next week! |

I have done REALLY well this week, especially today. BUT, I really want to binge right now. Like so much that I am willing to drive to Dunkin' Donuts for every donut they have, then to Burger King AND McDonalds AND Wendy's and every fast food place along the way. WTFFFF!!!
|
I had my nights like that MrsD. Hopefully you held strong and resisted but if not, today is a new day!
|
woop woop im down 2lbs. into the 194s again. woop woop
|
Yay Jinksie! :)
|
I fit into a pair of size 10 jeans today that I bought a couple years ago. They were cute and on clearance at the Gap outlet. I wasn't able to fit into them then but I had high hopes. Finally! And they're not even tight!
|
sadly i gained 0.5lb this week. No idea why. Water weight i suppose. A little disapointed though :(
|
Great job, OnceUponADrive! Must feel so good!!
Awww I feel you :( I gained too that week. We'll do better next week! |
Quote:
We can do this!! |
Quote:
yay, we can be weight buddies! ;) I'm back, had a great time... emotional and I spent today completely lost and eating crap but.. oh well. I think it makes up for the fact that I rarely ate more than 800 calories and walked for HOURS every day I was there. The public transport system makes things so easy but also requires so much walking *laughs* Down just 0.8 this week but I think its because I wasn't eating enough, obviously. |
craving chinese this evening.
i ate oatmeal instead. lol |
