Omg50!!!

The last few weeks have been super slow. Oy. Slight gain, slight loss that barely covered gain, stayed the same. I've been working the plan and I was feeling a little fatigued and discouraged.

I mentioned this elsewhere, but I gave myself a mental break last Saturday, I was going out with hubby and decided I was just going to spend the day out and enjoy myself. I wasn't going to stuff my face or anything, but just one day not worrying about tracking, points, etc. I am usually super obsessive about my tracking - I double track, even, so I can keep an eye on cals, protein, fiber, etc. I just felt a little burnt out. I had a little splurge too, movie popcorn with butter. :p

The next day I felt like I had taken a 2 day nap or something, I felt so much more energized. Then I just kept working at the little things I wanted to improve on, like I had been falling short of my protein goals, or falling short on points by maybe having my afternoon snack too late and then not eating all of my dinner. Etc. I signed up for a Turkey Trot (5k run on Thanksgiving) this week! I have NO idea how much I'll be able to run, but it got me distracted thinking about my "running" (more like a baby's crawl speed jog), walking pace, etc. Hey, I'll just do my best. :)

I lost 6.4 this week (/faint) and better yet, hit 50 lbs and got my charm! It's been so frustrating to feel SO CLOSE to a milestone and just not be able to get there, but ugh I feel like a 50 lb weight is off my back now. :) Lots more to go but I'll get there, eventually!

I have been counting calories, and definitely find it overwhelming and all-consuming at times. I think I'm going to try what you did and take a day off, maybe once a week or once every two weeks, and see how I do. Gotta keep the mind healthy as well as the body, right? Congrats on your tremendous progress, keep it up!

Congratulations!! I am a strong believer in a mental day off sometimes... and sometimes it helps give your metabolism a boost :)

That is awesome! Can I ask you...do you stick to your daily points or do you also use your weekly and activity points?

I am so happy for you. Hopefully, I can post the same thing about Christmas time. Hopefully.

And again, A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!!!
