New to weight watchers

Hi I just joined weight watchers 1 week ago. I lost 3.8 pounds my first week. I hope the pounds keep coming off! Do any of you have any good suggestions to control hunger? I go to bed still hungary most nights. I appreciate any help thanks!

Christy:)

Christy- congrats on joining WW, and on the good loss! :D
I like to eat lots of high fiber foods to help me feel full. I supplement meals with lots of veggies and eat a big bowl of low pts soup before the rest of my meal. I also eat low pt soup if I am hungry and need something. Drinking lots of water helps too-both on its own and before eating. This is a great place to come to find support!
It gets easier! Good luck!

Thanks Saskiemom for the advice. What are some low point soups? I know veggies are low points but sometimes they just don't do it. I would like to try the soup though.

In the Week 1 booklet, to get you started, there is a fantastic recipe for 0 point soup. I make it all the time, varying my vegetables and spices each week. It really is good and you can eat as much of it as you want. Sometimes I have 1/2 C. of cottage cheese, add some vanilla flavoring, Splenda, and cinnamon to it. It's very good and filling. Roasted Soy Nuts are good too, and depending on whichever brand you use, some serving sizes are 1/3 cup, and some are 1/4 cup for 3 points. Also s/f jello is a good snack. Hope this helps.

I have a quick idea as well, sometimes I 'cream" my soup for variety. This simply entails taking 1/2 of what you will eat and running it through the blender and adding it to the other half, then you get a creamy / chunky soup. You can also cream the whole lot of it for a creamy soup.

Smiles,
sarah

I just joined earlier this month, but I made a great soup over the weekend. (It's kind of like chili.) It's very easy. Here goes...

1 lb. lean ground beef
1 onion
2 cans stewed tomatoes
1 can whole kernel corn
1 can chili beans in spicy sauce - sauce depends on your taste
1 can pinto beans
1 pkg. dry ranch dressing mix
1 pkg. dry taco seasoning mix

Brown ground beef and saute onion - draine well and rinse. Add remaining ingredients to beef/onions. DO NOT DRAIN THE CANS - JUST DUMP THEM IN. Stir well and let simmer 30 minutes. You can also put into a crock pot after browning beef on low and it will be fine.
2 pts per cup - very filling.
My husband said its his new favorite soup!

I began WW three weeks ago and so far have lost 5 lbs. I think this web site is terrific, everyone is so helpful... it makes you feel like you're not alone! I agree with Christym1969 the first few days are hard and I did often go to bed a little hungry, but things have gotten much better. The great part about WW is that you have so many choices. Good luck to all, I'll be coming here frequently for advice and feedback.
