Simply Filling

Hi Everyone!

Is anyone here following the Simply Filling Technique? I've been thinking about giving it a shot. Since I started working, I've barely been able to track but I've still managed to eat healthy. I'm am EMT so we eat on the go when we can and I figured the Simply Filling Technique would be perfect for me.

I have not tried it personally. Only because I know myself and if I do not track thoroughly I will underestimate or lose my focus and eat things I don't want.

I say, if you're comfortable with using the simply filling techniques and sticking with better food choices most of the time, then why not try it out for a week and see the results?

I started WW at work program February 14, 2011 and started with Simply Filling.* I made sure all my meals were portion-controlled, that is to say, if I had whole-wheat pasta, I measured out 1 cup, fat-free milk at 1 cup, etc. I lost 15 lbs. in the first 12 weeks and then my weight loss stalled for 6 weeks. At that point, I turned to counting points. I really loved Simply Filling! The only issue was finding fat-free dairy in Canada. I kept that to skim milk, Greek yogurt and 0% cottage cheese that is available at Walmart.

I encourage anyone to try it. It really brings you back to the basics, eating foods in their most natural form. I always used all 49 weeklies - I added a teaspoon or more of healthy oils per day (you don't count the first 2), a cookie for dessert here and there and a glass of wine 4 or 5 nights per week.

Now that I'm counting points, I still find myself choosing non-processed foods and they keep me satisfied longer.

Good luck!

Forgot to add:

I still wrote down everything I ate. Some days I tracked the points to see where I was and 90% of the time, I was right on target at 29.

I would try it for at least 2 weeks to give your body a chance to get used to it.

Thanks so much for the replies!

I tried Simply Filling and ended up gaining 7.2lbs! Even though I've lost over 100lbs, I don't think I'm ready to be on my own just yet. I really thought I could control my portions and eat to satisfaction but I found myself going overboard almost every single day with the exception of 2 where I barely ate to balance the 'Bad' days. So back to counting I go!

Trial and error. Trial and error.

Maybe at some point it'll be right for you, but not yet. You tried, and figured out what YOU needed.
