Default Almost there!

Morning!

I am 1.8 away from hitting goal but I feel like it's going to be difficult for me to stop losing weight. I don't want to stop yet and I feel like trying to maintain for 6 weeks is going to make me lazy, if that makes any sense. I honestly didn't even think I'd be this close right now, I was stuck in the 160's for months and these past 2 weeks I've managed to drop 8lbs. I'm not even sure how but I'm thinking maybe my body was holding onto it for so long and decided it was time!

My ultimate goal is 130 but I'm hearing I look too thin as it is and 130 would make me look anorexic! Weight Watchers says I can't go below 125 for my height and I don't think they would deliberately make me look unhealthy. I have dealt with so much rudeness from my family and even strangers when I tell them how much I've lost. The first question they ask is 'Did you have surgery' and I take offense to that. Not that that option is bad thing but it's the very first thing that comes to mind when hearing someone has lost over 100lbs. I can honestly say I was treated better when I was fat, now women look at me and give me dirty looks or are rude and I'm a very nice person. Sure I'm pretty but I haven't changed who I am, just my size. I think the most uncomfortable thing I deal with is having men constantly follow me and make comments. I know I'm going off track with my post but getting to goal is a good and bad thing.

Do any of you experience any of this since you've lost?

I'm starting to get that a bit. I lost 16 lbs, but I'm still a bit overweight (BMI is 26, and I'm still only fitting in the largest non-plus size jeans in stores) and I'm already starting to get ''but you're planning to stop soon, right?''

I've stopped telling people I'd love to loose 20-30 lbs more because I get so many wrong looks! It almost make me feel bad to want to lose weight.

I think it's really unfair of the people. It's not like we're loosing weight by not eating and getting a food disorder, we're just getting a healthier lifestyle like everybody should be! I think it's because people are still associating weight loss with anorexia and overtraining...

So I've stopped telling people about my weight loss journey. Except on here, of course

It's amazing that you're so close from your goal Kimberley. Congratulations xxx

Skinny girls get the looks too kim! =p
We (ignorant) larger girls dont know what you've gone through to get where you are. All we see a a think girl, attractive, eating (whatever it is you eat)... and we hate you for it. Cos we're eating salads, and straving ourselves.
I used to dislike this popular girl in school, cos she was blond and popular, and thin. BUt one day at the gym ( i used to go in year 12) there she was running on the treadmill. I stopped hating her. She had to work hard to keep that, and she was.

People will always hold a view about you, because they don't know the details. Its jealousy and envy, and its not pretty.
Thats why people always tell you, what matters is what you want and how you feel, not what others want or need - no one will ever measure up to someone else standards.

You look fantastic, and because you want to, im sure you have an extra 10lbs somewhere, at least (cos you want to lose it, not that you look like you need to), but if it comes up, explain that you're BMI is still not in the healthy range. Maybe you've mentioned you need to lose more weight, and your tone has come across and complaining, and they're worried?
If someone has a problem with you losing more weight, ask them why? Then lay the fact down for them, so they're more understanding, or dont bother.
All that matters is what you want, and hope to achieve, and the support you can gather around you

Even at my lowest adult weight I never experienced that, but... my lowest adult weight was about 225 lbs!

Either way, I'm very sorry that there are some negative things going on now that you're nearing goal.

Be proud! You are so close, you've come so far! I'm very excited for you!

Dont worry what other people say or think. Do what you think is best for yourself. You do look fantastic, and even better... healthy! This is your time, so soak it up, youve worked hard to get it too. You know those people who are giving the dirty looks are the people who are jelous of you. Not even probably because of the weight loss, but just simply because your an attractive girl. For the most part, Women hate other women. Its just what we do.
