Advice Please

I have finally committed to doing it this time after months of clearing up the obstacles and having surgery to repair my elbow. After researching a meeting location I have decided there is not a meeting close enough for me. We live out in the country and the closest meeting on the days I can go is 40+ miles away. SO I am hear to ask, can I have advice about doing WW online. I have done WW years ago and lost over 70 lbs but with marriage and babies I have gained it back. I know I can do it but I am very nervous. Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks
Nicole

Did you check out the WW website ?

I did, and there is a ton of info. I guess my main issue is how to get the support you get from the meetings.

You will get lots of support from 3FC forums, check around the different ones that might interest you besides WW.

You can also sign up for a free newsletter from WW.

A lot of people do it online only. The meetings hold you accountable. I honestly didnt find the information new or interesting; but it did make me accountable.

There's an online community on WW with groups, challenges, and postings.

There are also online communities outside of WW like 3FC.

There's the option to find a buddy or two. Either IRL or Online.

You can also look into other in-person support either from friends or family, or finding a group like TOPS. (tops.org)

If you can't go to meetings, I stress reaching out in any way possible for support and encouragement.

I've been doing WW online for two weeks. I've never been to a meeting, nor do I have desire to. Being held accountable by other people for my weight just isn't motivating to me. However, the online weight and measurements tracker is highly motivating to me. Plus, I don't think that I would get any other information not available to me online or at 3FC. It would feel like a waste of time for me.

I'm doing WW online now, although several years ago I did WW and went to the meetings. Personally I never got much out of the meetings and prefer the flexibility of coming here to 3FC -- like, with the meetings you have to find one that fits your schedule, whereas I can come to 3FC whenever I want!

I have never had any problem holding myself accountable, and I absolutely love the new program.

i do it at home also. i used to do the meetings but it started to feel like a waste of time and money. i set my weigh in day, i log my food and exercise in the e-tools and come here or ww website for support.

I do the meetings right now but I sometimes think about switching. I love my leader and meeting in general but it's 30 mins drive each way and not as early in the morning as I'd like. I've tried a few other leaders/meeting times, but just haven't found a group/leader that comes close to comparing. So for now I'm still going, in the future... who knows.

There's a lot of support to be found here. And if you need more accountability, there are challenges in different forums. (There's also a forum called Chicks up for a Challenge.) There's a thread here where you can post what you eat in a day, if you think sharing that will keep you honest.

If you know someone that is trying to lose weight too or might be interested in that, having someone to talk to about that might help too. My best friend moved to Sweden some years back and she's struggled with her weight as well. We can't work out together and she doesn't follow WW, but we can ask each other about our workouts, tracking, etc. She posts on 3fc now too. We both joined a challenge on the same team. Some days when I really feel like slacking, she helps kick me into gear via IM. :)
