Is it really 14 extra points.....
for exclusively breastfeeding mothers? I read on-line that breastfeeding mothers need about 500 extra calories daily. Isn't 14 pts alot more than 500 calories (or is 500 calories extra innacurate?)

Once again, you can't assign a number of calories to a point. It doesn't work. Points do not take calories into account at all.

Obviously can't post the formula, but if WW says 14 points for nursing mothers... then they've researched, researched and researched some more into it. As with any plan, I suggest following it as it's intended, and then tweaking if necessary to get the results you need. |
Points Plus are not directly related to calories. However, PP is related because points are related to the things that make up calories. I've found that overall 1 PP is equal to between about 35 to 40 calories (this isn't exact) so 14 extra PP a day seems about right.

I am a nursing mom who has followed WW since my infant was 4 months old. When I was exclusively nursing, I wouldn't eat all of my "extra" points but always felt full. Now that we've introduced solids (still exclusive nursing though, no formula), i get fewer "extra" points but still some. I pretty much eat all my points every day. I have lost 33+lbs since joining WW using the extras, so like someone said, they've researched it and have good science for doing what they do.
Good luck! |
