Ooops... Edamame slip-up

So I guess I was brain-dead during lunch today. We had sushi and I was excited to discover that the maki rolls were only 6 points for 8. BUT... we got an order of edamame too and since no one else liked it, I dove in and ate the entire thing, assuming that it was a vegetable and wouldn't count.

Soooo fast forward to tonight when I am tracking lunch, and I discovered that there IS points in edamame because it is a bean.... *groan*. So I have all these options.... one cup in the pod, 1/2 cup shelled... in fact, there are two entries for 1/2 cup shelled with different point values.

Here's the problem. I honestly don't know how much I ate. I thought they'd be free, so I just kept on popping the pods! I am trying to remember how big the package was, but I just have no way to be accurate.

What do you guys do? Guess? Track a few extra points? Track the "average" and leave the rest up to chance? Argh. I do NOT like not knowing what I ate! I'll know better next time before I assume something doesn't count as points.

I eat about the equivalent of what comes in a restaurant order of edamame everyday. It comes to 3 pts.

Also, I wouldn't sweat it too much. No one gets fat from edamame.

Ha.. "no one gets fat from edamame".... sometimes it takes another person to remind us how silly we are... You're right. I'm worrying about eating too much edamame. HA!

this is what weekly points are for? :D

Totally agree with skinnycow, but if you are going to sweat it I would ballpark it by thinking of how big the serving was in cup sizes (look at a measuring cup if yo uneed to) and then add what you think is right :)

I hate to burst your balloon, but you can get fat from anything you overeat.

Actually I think skinnycow had a great point. Of course overeating food will cause weight gain, but I don't know anyone who's in weight watchers because they ate too many apples or broccoli.... It's the unhealthy foods or foods of lower nutritional value that we ate too much of that brought us here. If you meet someone who gained a bunch of weight from eating fruits and veggies, I'd love to hear about it....
