Weird ? about APs
I remember when I did WW before (Momentum) I had always heard that 1 AP was roughly equal to 100 calories burned (and 1 point was roughly equal to 50 calories, so you could only eat half as much as you earned -- if you ate them at all -- so you would still maintain a calorie deficit). So if you burned 300 calories you earned 3 points.
I know you go by perceived intensity now. So I worked out today, 30 minutes HARD on the arc trainer. Definitely high intensity. The machine said I burned over 400 calories (side note: I also know these are notoriously inaccurate but I was doing intervals and I did enter my weight), the activity tracker on etools gave me 8 APs. I don't generally eat them anyway but does that seem like a lot? Is there a correlation between AP and calories burned? Is this a dumb question? |
The numbers have totally changed so you can't compare old to new. And that number of APs sounds right for what you did. I think it's about 50 cals = 1 AP.
