Gain!

Hi Everyone :smug:

Unfortunately I had ANOTHER gain this week of 1.8lbs, I pretty much gained the 5.6lbs back that I lost 2 weeks ago :( Today I started (TOM) and I'm thinking that had something to due with the gain because I tracked all week and worked out. I decided to switch back to Momentum today and surprisingly a few other people in my meeting have done the same because they are frustrated. I'm doing something a little different when it comes to counting fruit this time, I will take it out of my weekly 35 points. I'm also going to rack up the activity points and use those if I want something special to eat rather than relying on the weekly points.

Ugh. You have a well thought out plan, although it must be so frustrating. Keep us posted!

Awe, that's so frustrating! Are you using Activity Points? I've learned to avoid using them in general because it's easy to overestimate intensity. I started Points+ 2 weeks and 3 days ago and I was scared I'd gain. I decided to count fruit as a point and TRY not to dip too far into my 49 WP. I lost 3.6 lbs the first week and 4 the 2nd week. I'm shocked. But the thing is, I eat more protein than I did when I was sticking to 20-25 points a day for maintenance (thyroid disease & messed up metabolism here). I'm sure I'll see a gain or 0 loss next time I weigh in and I'm dreading it. I count fruit as 1 pt. because in the end, it's calories in vs. calories out. I'll probably get flamed for this but meh, whatever. Hang in there!

UGH!! That sucks!!

That sounds like a really good game plan. Keep us posted on your progress...I'm sure you'll get it all ironed out.

Well between TOM and all the stress you've been dealing with (saw your fb statuses, you'll do great though hun..dont give up) I'm sure that has a lot to do with it. You'll get right back on it.

Temporary setback Kim. TOM is prob bumping up your number.

I'm close to goal and I know I can't eat both my AP and WP. I choose to eat my AP no matter what, since I train hard and I know you do too, and I need that energy to sustain my next workout.

The weeks I choose to use my WP, I know to anticipate maintenance, not a loss. Everyone's different though.

You have prepared your plan and I know you will be successful. :D

Just keep pushing forward. Frustrating yes, but don't let that get you down :)

seagirl 01-26-2011 04:58 PM

Do you weigh yourself daily?

spryng 01-26-2011 05:08 PM

I know you must be frustrated, hang in there! I think your new plan of action sounds great, keep us updated for sure :) and I agree about the post about AP's.. I never eat mine either because I don't trust them (intensity levels etc, lol don't know why, I just always feel like they should be lower than they are or something) I'm sure once TOM is gone etc you'll see a nice loss next week :)

OK, I'm totally new to this forum---what is TOM and why do you only get 35 weekly points? (is that a momentum difference?). I'm new to WW so I am doing P+---although I haven't been using any of my activity points and only half of my weekly extra points because I really don't believe them when they say I'll lose with them! Thoughts?

TOM is time of the month/period.

If you read some of Kimberly's other threads, she was having no loss/gains on P+ after a lot of success on Momentum, so she's gone back to that.

I lose on P+ eating all but 4 of my weeklies. But, you've got to figure out what works for you and let your weight loss be your guide.

Thanks:)

Do you lose 1-2 still with eating your weeklies? I think I'm just gun-shy after being on low cal diets for so long!

Thanks for sharing with me---I think I need to 'play' with them and see how it goes. Now if I can just figure out a way not to be upset if I don't see the weight loss I expect each week;)

Shytowngal 01-26-2011 05:58 PM

Hi Kim, I'm sure your TOM has a lot to do with it. I lost consistently with momentum but gained a bit on P+, so I feel your pain. Once you get into the swing of your new plan things will get back to normal.
