Edamame is premature soybeans still in their pod. It is a really common appetizer at Japanese/sushi restaraunts.
I guess it sounds kind of gross (especially, if you, like me, are sort of afraid of super healthy type foods), but I think they are delicious. They have quite a bit of protein as well. |
Hmm, sounds pretty yummy. Do you prepare them any sort of way or just microwave them plain. Do they sell them in regular grocery stores?

They sell them in little microwave steamer packs in the frozen section of a regular grocery store. I like to put salt on the outside of the pods (I get the kind in the pod, but they also have it shelled), but they are still delicious without it.

I will have to get some tomorrow. They sound pretty good.

I love this recipe, I double up on the spices and throw in a bunch of hot pepper flakes. http://www.weightwatchers.ca/util/pr...RecipeID=88041 |
That looks so yummy! I am going to have to try that one for sure.
