Points help please
I made egg noodles no yolk.
I looked them up and it comes to 5 points. I put in the calculations according to the bag and It also comes to 5 points. Well here is my problem. I ATE 4 ounces of cooked noodles. Aren't I suppose to double what the NI is on the bag if it says it's for 2oz. Is that 2oz on the bag cooked or raw? I got 10 points. here is the info from the bag Fat..5 Carbs 41 Protein 8 Fiber 3 I get 10 for this. can you help me or let me know this is the correct or wrong number to use for 4 oz of cooked stuff. :( |
Did you cook and eat the entire bag? Does the bag say it is 2 servings? If so then I would double the nutritional info and then calculate the points?
|
it's a big bag lol. The bag is 12 oz.
I just poured some in hot water. Measured out 4 oz cooked noodles and ate that. I got 10 points for that. Or is it suppose to be 5? cause the bag says serving size 2 oz. |
Yes that's right, 10 points.
|
It's 10P+, but that is 4oz dry- 4oz dry would likely weight more cooked.....Hmmmmm I always weigh my pasta before I cook it! I would probably just count it as 10 and then be sure to measure before you cook it!
|
I weigh before measuring. If you ate 1/6 of the whole bag, that's 5.
|
Sea girl... I just poured noodles in the pot
Now that stinks. I ate more last night because I thought It was 5:(((( Okay. So the dealmis weigh the noodles and get 2 ounces and that's all. Can have..? And that will be 5 points? |
Personally, I think you ate fewer than 5 points. Nutritiondata.com gives the info for cooked egg noodles -
4 oz cooked egg noodles equals 155 cals 2 g fat 5 g protein 28 g carbs approx 1 g fiber (FYI, their info for uncooked, 2 oz matches the info you gave for the bag NI) Not sure what that works out to in points (not currently doing WW), but I think it's less than 2oz dry - Edit: Oops - they don't have an entry specifically for NO YOLKS...the egg noodles they list are slightly higher fat and slightly lower fiber...however, I still think you're safe using the point calculation for 2 oz dry pasta - cooked pasta is much heavier than dry due to the absorption of water |
It is 10 points according to the points tracker.

I have a noodle update! :) I had WW Penne tonight- I weighed out 4 oz dry and then when it was cooked I re-weighed to split in 2 servings for hubby and me... anyway it was 9oz cooked.... I think if you eat 4oz of cooked noodles you likely had about 2 oz of dry noodles... Just my 2 cents! :) I am sure though you tracked and moved on by now... LOL :P
|
Aka cute. I've not moved on all the way cause, it seems it's still a toss up of 5 or 10 pp.
You see one said I was safe and one said it was ten..... And it looks like you are saying it's 5 also . My meeting is Monday and we will revisit this then. Lol. Since there were 4 oz left overs, I ate that again today. I'll just ot track it and say, Oh we'll |
