I don't know if I'd say I feel guilty necessarily, but last night I ate a huge salad with chicken on top. I carefully measured everything I put on the salad except for the veggies and knew how many PointsPlus it was. It REALLY filled me up and I thought about how we're supposed to eat to satisfaction, not to discomfort, and I bet that applies to lettuce as much as anything. I've been trying to incorporate Intuitive Eating type ideas into my WW plan lately, so I did feel like I betrayed that side of things.
But I found that an hour later I was actually hungry, as I suspected I would. I find fruits and veggies are great for filling you up but they also leave you hungry not too much later.
I think there's something to be said for NOT eating all your daily points if you truly feel like you've had enough. I know that's not a popular message but our leader even said that all the time before this new program launched. She did say to eat all our daily PointsPlus when she introduced the new program, but I wonder how long before she goes a little off message with that. Her reasoning was that if you are truly satisfied and you keep eating just to get in all your Points, then isn't that just another form of the diet mentality and food abuse?
And I always figure if I'm just short a Point or two for the day, chances are I actually did eat those Points but missed them by inaccurate measuring or whatever. I don't make a deliberate choice not to eat those Points, but if it happens and it's the end of the day and I'm really not hungry, then I try not to stress over it.
