Old Weight Watcher's Programs

Hello,
I just ordered the old Quick Fast Program of the 1980's with the food exchanges. I remember loosing all my weight and went to Lifetime. The only reason I never kept it off were lots of family and personal issues that I have finally got the courage after all these years to face and live my life to the fullest.
I felt so much better on this program and found a place for very inexpensive to order the book. I am so pleased with this. None of my research in doing this has ever said that the old Weight Watcher's programs are tabooed.
I feel it is going back to basics, also a very healthy way to eat and last a lot of common sense freedom of the way we all should eat.

Please let me know what you think, and would you do it too.

Thank you,
Melanie in Colorado :high:

I've been through several versions of the WW programs throughout the years and while I've liked some better than others, I always thought it was a sensible program. As long as you stick to the basics of portion control, lean protein, fruits and vegetables it will always be a winner no matter if you are counting food exchanges, winning points or filling foods.

I think it's smart to pick a program you like and one that you know has worked for you in the past. Good luck to you Melsie!

Melsie, I loved the old Quick Start/Quick Success programs,, too. I've often thought of trying them again -- I bought the cookbooks (having stupidly tossed mine out) but when I tried making meal plans, there were several food items I depend o now that were difficult to count. Processed foods, but not unhealthy ones!

Have you ever looked into South Beach? Their Phase 2 (after two weeks of no fruit or grains) is very like the old exchange program. (I've tried SB and failed on it; it's too much cooking for me at this point in my life and schedule, but I'd like to work toward its goals).

Back to Quick Start, I think it is a very healthy program! If you try it, let us know how you're doing, and good luck to you.

if you don't mind me asking, where did you get the info/book? was it a web site?
