When do you set your "ultimate" goal?
Hi all. I have been doing WW since August and I have only set my 5% and 10% goals. I wondered when I am supposed to set my ultimate goal? Thanks!

I think you can set it anytime you like. Just tell your meeting leader you're ready to do it and s/he can discuss it with you. You can also talk to your doctor about it if you want a professional medical opinion.

Hmmm I havne't really thought about having mini goals. I have the final weight that I want to be at. Are mini goals important to have?

Some advice :)
For me they are, and I am just getting started. Even my weekly goals, like 3 (2 mile) walks a week, give me something to work towards. I don't get burned out thinking about how far away my ultimate goal is, I just look forward to my mini goals. So far I have met my 5% lost, 2 5lb stickers, a ten lb ribbon, and a few other stickers. As a teacher, I appreciate stickers as rewards :) and I look forward to the times I can share my accomplishments and mini goal attainments. Also, I think that having some mini-goals that aren't about the number on the scale is important also. Like drinking all of your water, or tracking everything. Just think og things that are important to you :carrot

Ok I will talk to my leader.
Mini-goals work for me. I have the following goals: 10 lbs - hubby makes dinner 20 lbs - get to go on a scenic drive 30 lbs - go play bingo 40 lbs - hike Big Laguna trail 50 lbs - new outfit 60 lbs - go horseback riding (we would rent them) I look forward to these, I made the 10 lb one and I am about 1.5 lbs away from my 20 lb one. To me, they help me focus on one goal at a time so that it doesn't seem so overwhelming to lose 80+ lbs. :) |
