 Hello Ladies,

I'm fighting the Carbo. devil  again BIG TIME.

I think though that I've found a trigger that I didn't know was one. I'm not a big coffee drinker but I've been having a cup with breakfast and then, if there are :nono: goodies, I'll have another cup. Or if I want a baked good in the afternoon I'll have coffee with it. Now, GET THIS I don't LIKE the Taste of coffee! I've discovered I only drink it if I have something to go with it! So AS OF RIGHT NOW ...I'm tossing my work mug and when I get home out goes the instant coffee! I'm going to get me a pretty tea cup for work and DRINK MORE TEA! I like tea all by itself. It doesn't make me hungry and I don't enjoy eating something while I'm drinking it.

I hope this help. I need a real kick start this time. I've been so far OFF Program it's not funny anymore.

Jana: We have a pointer that I showed in obedience, conformation and agility. We still compete in tracking events. Also a cute black cocker and 2 cats! How'd WI go?

Bunny: Don't you just HATE ISP's. I'm on Webtv at home and that can be sooooo slowwww. My company is offering us a super discount on broadband so, if I get around to getting a PC before mid December that's the way I'll go next. Good to see you're staying OP and getting in some exercise. What happened to your hiking?

Gotta get back to work.

Really short visit ......

After work tonight I'm off to Cornell for a weekend seminar. Taking lunches (trusty tuna sandwiches with cuke slices in vinegar on the side) so hope to stay OP all weekend.

Gotta run ..... Talk to you on Sunday night,

j-ann 10-07-2002 07:10 AM

Greetings,
I can't believe NO ONE HAS POSTED ALL WEEKEND. I was away, got back late last night. Stayed pretty much OP and was outdoors most of the weekend.
Tis morning went to leave for work and I've got a flat tire! I'm waiting for the garage guy right now.

What's up ladies? Are we going to get in here and post more often or just let this thread die? I'd hate to see that happen.

Hope to see some activity soon.

Heya, J-ann (and everyone)!

This weekend was VERY busy for us. Lots of travel, lots of buying. We actually had two very good business buys this weekend - and then *poof* it was Monday.

I finished a pair of socks and started another pair, again. This week is my younger girl's birthday - she'll be 12 *eek*. We're holding a sleep-over for her and she's decided its to be pizza for dinner (so a challenge, points-wise).

The weather is turning cooler and I think my toe's finally healed enough to make long walks possible - so we're off to hike today (I hope!).

More, later!

slutbunny 10-09-2002 08:02 AM

The weather here has been dreary this week - rain, slightly chilly, overcast. We were to head to the flea market this morning -but weather called it off. Instead I'm sitting here working on winding hanks into balls to start another pair of socks (this time I'm just making the same pair I made earlier, again - to take pictures of the process).

I hope y'all are well!

Saw South Pacific last night. It was performed by the national touring company and was fantastic. I cried. (So what else is new? I cry at comedies. )
Yesterday was pretty good food wise. Today will be better. Still trying to lower my carb intake. It's going to take a while to get used to though.

BUNNY: Cool days are perfect for knitting by hand. Keeps your fingers warm and nimble AND out of the goodies.

Cool and bright here. Almost down to frost temps. this A.M. Think I might walk on my lunch 1/2 hr. My favorite weather.:D

You gal's all have a Wunnerful Wednesday. See ya later.

:flow1: :goodvibes :twirly:

Morning!

Today I sent "Autumn Care" packages to a few folks on my list. For the first time in ages, I'm not including candy in the care packages - awareness of my own foibles preclude it.

Lots of knitting last night (finishing up the first of the Christmas presents), some telly, good dinner.

I hope your walk worked out yesterday, J-Ann!

 Hello out there!

TERRI: Come out, come out where ever you are!! :) We miss you.

JANA, STARR, AUNTIE PEACEFUL, MARY: Were are you all???

BUNNY: I hear those knitting needles clicking away. What are Autumn Care packages? I'm stumped.

Well ladies, whether you want to "listen" or not I'm going to tell you about my morning. Today I took my first "Women On Weights" class at the Y. After Aquajogging a few of us paraded into the inner sanctum of body building, the weight room hidden in the bowels of the Y.:barbell: No bicycles or treadmills here. It looked like a torture chamber! You could see the buff guys cringe as we invaded their territory. lol: It turned out to be a lot of fun. It's something I've wanted to try for a long time. I have so little muscle tone that every little bit I do can only help. We learned how to use free weights and one of the "torture machines". It took longer to set it up than to do the workout. There was some ab stuff, on the floor, that I opted out of. I'll do it at home but I look, and feel, ridiculous getting up off the floor, so I'll pass on doing crunches in class or a while. :strong:

I won't be afraid to go back on my own during the week. It is a strange place though. No one talks. There's music playing and everyone seems to come in do their "thing" and leave. Kind of like a strange church where everyone bows to the idols and prays quietly on there own. I assume the grunts replace the "AMENS"!

Well I stayed OP today and I'm going to soak in a nice warm tub, read about reps and lactic acid (my homework), then take some ibuprofen and crash. I'm sure I'll be sore tomorrow.

Ya all have a nice Columbus Day (Thanksgiving if you're in Canada) weekend. Since it's supposed to be cool and damp I'll be home catching up on chores :(

:df:

Morning, J-Ann (and lurking folks)!

Today's my younger daughter's 12th birthday. We actually had her party (along with many non-WW-pt foods) on Friday. Today's mostly a laze around the house day - with lots of playing her new video game for my newly 12 year old. :)

J-Ann - I send care packages to my family and friends at the beginning of each season. The ones going out now are for Autumn. They'll have autumn themed candles, some dried leaves in oranges, red, yellows, and other autumn appropriate items (including this shawl: http://www.jenanne.com/shawlchristines.htm that I made for my godmom). Its not so much a known thing as something I just do for folks I love and miss.

Enjoy what remains of your long weekend, everyone!

j-ann 10-13-2002 02:39 PM

Bunny, what a NEAT way to stay in touch. You are soo good to everyone. You deserve a GOLD STAR but since we don't have one on the "smiles" page her's a friendly :grouphug:.

I love the shawl and what a great idea to match it to the socks.

slutbunny 10-14-2002 04:04 PM

J-ann - I just hope my family/friends enjoy the packages even 1/2 as much as I do putting them together. *g* It helps me not miss everyone quite so much.

We taken to eating our lunch every day at a local cafe next door to the WW meeting place. The proprietess has the WW points for every selection posted - and its all yummy, and most of its reasonable (I consider 10 pts or less reasonable for one of the two "big" meals of the day). Love it! Anyway, the best bit is that we park a bit from the cafe, and walk there, then we walk on up main street to the post office, then back again. So - not hiking - but definitely walking and its every day.

:)

slutbunny 10-16-2002 07:43 AM

I met some lovely gals at my knitting guild meeting - and we're supposed to get together sometime next week so we can learn to crochet (one of the gals knows how already). That should be fun!

Yesterday I bit the bullet and went clothing shopping. Our local Belks (some of y'all may recall I'm a bargain fiend) was having a sale - so $80 later I walked out with two pairs of Tommy Hilfiger jeans, 3 Tommy tops, and 1 Liz sweater. OOoooo-la-la! The best part is where the shopping spree was on my mom. :)

I've taken to doing my grocery shopping once a week - I buy all the ingredients for 7 dinners, snacks, and breakfast (my budget is $60 for my family of four). We typically eat lunch out at our favourite cafe. I find that buying it all at once cuts down on what was becoming the dreaded "pick up a candy bar while checking out" syndrome. I can easily resist when I have a buggy full of yummy food - but less so when I'm just running in to grab ingredients for one meal. So this is a good thing.

Happy day to you all!

j-ann 10-16-2002 11:13 AM

Mornin Ladies!

It's a cool icky day here. Rainy and in the 40's. Luckily our color isn't at peak so the leaves will hopefully remain on the trees. If we get the predicted snow later in the they might all fall. Ihope not I love the smell and look of Autumn. Wish it would last right til Spring. :)

I'd love a shopping spree but I have to wait til later in the year. Need to get Christmas shopping done first. BUNNY you sure got great deals (for your Mom!). We just got our first local Target store. It opened on the weekend. I'll get there in a few weeks. Want to let the crowds thin a bit first. :)

Food's been pretty good and I'm doing weights on my own 2X a week plus the class on Sat.

Running to the store for one or two things can be a real disaster for me too. I get the candy bar and often hit the drive thru so I try to go once a week, after dinner.

Gotta get back to work,

slutbunny 10-17-2002 08:15 AM

Good morning!

Dinner last night was a great Beef Satay (I'd swear the recipe comes from the online WW recipe thingy). Delish!

Today - guess what - we're GOING HIKING! Yippee! Off to see the fall colours from a higher elevation - and it should be grand. :)

Oh, happy day!
