*gulp* Should I take the plunge?
I'm on a 7day free trial of WW Online right now. After battling the fact that apparently I'm 1 inch too tall for WW I finally was able to log in and start getting the feel of the website/tracking points.
Then I ordered a pizza last night. I didn't go over my points, but for some reason I feel like (because of my lack of motivation) buying the 3 month subscription (is that the right word?) would be a waste of $60. My mom lost 80 pounds on WW when I was younger and it worked great for her! I guess I'm just looking for some guidance? |
Definitely understand you. I tried other websites that were free and were an awesome resource for calorie counting. But they wanted you to track other nutrients and I had a really hard time with that. PLUS it didn't incorporate in fat and fiber like WW does.
I really like the simplicity of the points system and how so many foods come with the WW points on their label now. I think I AM the type of person that would become motivated for the simple fact that I paid money for the service. Hm.. |
Well, I don't do WW at this time, but I have in the past, so I hope it's ok for me to chime in. I would say that it's really possible to do the system if you just go to one meeting and get all the info you need (the points calculator and the points guide). Then, you can just do the program on your own, no? Just a thought.

It's entirely up to you! You and only you are in charge of yourself! Are you ready to make a change? WW is one way to lose weight, but if you're not committed, like any other food plan, WW online will not work.
I follow WW using eTools and have all of the books here at home, so I have access to all aspects of program. And for me, there is no going-off or going-on program. I had too many "last suppers" in my years of WW. It is truly a lifetime project for me. Losing/maintaining are both tough. But so is being fat. :( It's all about how you want to live. My best to you and I know you will make the right decision! Judy |
Thanks everybody for your input.
I believe what I'm going to do is try to follow WW on my own and see if I have what it takes to drop the weight and keep with it. Then as a reward, at say my 30lb mark, I'll go ahead and subscribe and pay the fees. I'm afraid of jinxing myself into making the wrong decision, if that makes any sense at all. |
Hey again Fluffy,
I was going to post some useful free links but apparently I don't have enough posts yet. I will be back after I post 5 more times. ;) |
LOL and I don't think we can PM to each other either :( Hm.
|
Wow, Judy! What you said really resonated with me. You are so, so, so right about losing being tough, but being fat being tough, too. Sometimes it seems like being fat is easier (in terms of "work"), but it isn't!
