Well, I weigh in this morning. I don't know what to expect because, although I only gained 3 lbs last week, this week the overeating from early Nov - end of December could catch up with me. Hopefully not! Good luck to those who weigh in today.

Well, I'm down 9 lbs since the weekend before Thanksgiving, so I have to say that's a huge success -- to go through Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's with a big loss. Thanks to Weight Watchers and Zumba!

Geez, mareneli, that's fabulous! Congrats.
I weighed in and I'm down 2.8 lbs, I am happy with that. Just a little over .2 lbs and I'll be back at the weight I was at before the holidays! I think that what all of us that gained weight over the holidays have to do is just.....MOVE ON! Just get back on track, doing what we were doing before that time period (if you were losing before, if you weren't, well that's another story). |
Slight gain over the holiday season
I go to school in a city about 4 hours away from where my family lives, I attend my WW meetings here, I went home for the holiday's and didn't go to a meeting for 3 weeks, after not paying much attention to what I was eating over the holidays, reality hit when I got back to school last Monday. I attended my WW meeting on Thursday and was terrified to see if I would gain a whole lot or not much. I was thrilled to see that I only gained .6 lbs! It made me motivated to get back on track and try out new recipes, I hope next weeks results keep me just as motivated!

It's amazing how much that little scale can motivate us, huh? So, you didn't weigh at home and it was a total surprise that you only gained .6? That's a nice surprise! I don't weigh at home because I will get obsessive about it, so I look forward to going to a meeting to find out how much I lost (or gained!).

I find I do obsess when I'm at school, I weigh myself every morning and sometimes 1 or 2 other times in that day haha... it doesn't define if I'm going to eat or not, it's just that i want to keep an eye on my weight fluctuations during the day, my scale will be out of my apartment soon so I'll leave the weigh ins for my WW meetings after that... which will really make me panic, but will in the long run probably give me motivation.
And about not getting weighed at home, I'm from a small town so the WW meetings are in the fire hall or something haha, so I didn't have a clue where to research the stuff to find out where and when to go get weighed so I just left it until I could come back to the city. |
You know, I used to weigh myself every morning and I saw the fluctuations. That was kind of helpful because it made me see that I will weigh different depending on how my body feels that day. I used to write down my weight all week and then average it out at the end of the week and use that number as my official weight (pre-WW). I don't think there is anything wrong with weighing once a day...or as many as you feel comfortable.
