I was thinking about buying a scale too. After reading all these posts I think I might go get one at my next meeting. I do measure everything though w/ measuring cups and spoons. It's amazing w/ cold cereal how little you actually get to have. An actual bowl of cereal is 2-3 potions!!!

I have the WW scale and LOVE IT.
Is something that you really need in this Journey |
Yes - I weigh and measure pretty much everything to really keep me on top of portion sizes. Sometimes it is easy to judge, sometimes it's really not, so I went to Target and got a nice $29 scale. It has helped me SO much with measuring out things like meats, pastas, and such.

So, what food scale does one buy? HaHa.
I have looked, but I don't need fancy smancy. What do any of you have? Ashley |
I have the WW scale and LOVE IT! I can't say enough wonderful things about it. One of the things I like is that I can put a bowl, plate, napkin, etc and push zero and it will go back to zero so I don't have to subtract how much the bowl weighs.
OMG! That's AWESOME kira! I never thought to weigh the entire portion and then divide it from there! Holy cows my life will be easier! I personally weigh everything because for many things I get more bang for my buck. I eat a HUGE salad everyday with spinach, turkey, bacon pieces and 2% milk cheese crumbles and before I was weighing I wasn't getting as much of ANY of those things. I underestimated what 2 oz was and what 1 TBSP was. I get more food now, except with cereal, than I did before. Oh and something else that's cool is to weigh your potato before cooking and after. OMG! They lose weight too!!! Once the water evaps. I hope you get the WW scale, as it isn't much more than most others and it is SOOO much better if you are living with WW. Happy Living!!! DJ |
I don't know how much the WW scales are, but I used a regular, non-digital scale the first time I did WW and it was fine. Most stuff I measure by cup but some things, like an ounce of cheese, I would weigh.
This time around I haven't been using one but I might get another $10 scale. I lost the other one when I moved. |
I got the WW scale. I'm not in the habit of using it for everything yet but it is great to have when you are unsure. You can even get some nice surprises! (The first thing I weighed on that scale was chicken and I found out I had been over charging myself by double the points!)
