Daily Points
Hello everyone,
I am wanting some info on the WW points plan. I am a student working part time and cannot afford the starter kits or meetings, but am going to buy the points book for resterants, grocery stores, etc. Could anyone tell me how many points you are allowed daily? I am 25, 5'0 and 190 lbs. wanting to lose 70 lbs. Any help on this would be really appreciated. I have looked through numerous websites and cannot find anything on the daily points. THANKS!! |
For your weight, your points range is 22-27.
Congratulations to you for deciding to make the journey. Just stick with it and you will do it!! You need to drink at least six glasses of water a day and eats lots of fruits and veggies. You also need calcium (milk, cheese, yogurt) each day. Good luck. |
Dear SparkiMG:
Your points range will change as soon as you hit 175 pounds -- and please try to focus on eating foods with an eye to the following recommended guidelines by Weight Watchers... Although what Domina says is partly true -- about eating lots of fruit and veggies, you don't want to get more than 2-3 points a day in your diet from fruit (or starchy vegetables like peas, corn, potatoes.) In any event: here's the Eating By the Numbers Concept: 2-3 points a day in fat (a MUST, and that means 2-3 teaspoons a day in added fat -- butter, oil, margarine, peanut butter, mayo) 0-3 poins a day in veggies (many are zero) and fruit 4 points a day (no negotiating here) in milk or yogurt. 6-8 points a day in protein 6-9 points a day in carbs. If you generally follow these numbers, you'll most certainly have success. Good luck on your journey. We're all here to help. I"m at goal (have been at goal for 3 years) after losing 55 pounds. You can write us anytime... :-) |
Thanks so much for the info, now that I have the basics I can get started. It seems like it will be so much easier to count points than it is to count calories.
I went and bought all kinds of fruits veggies and low points food today. I am excited just thinking about how good I am going to look and feel! I hope in 8 months or so I can proudly say that I have reached my goal like you have. :D |
Good luck SparkiMG!
This program has been very successful for sooooo many, why not you? You can do this! ;) |
Again, good luck -- and also try to do most preparation and cooking for yourself at home rather than eating out. There's nothing wrong w/ eating out in restaurants occasionally -- but you're much more in control if you do it yourself. Keep in mind that the average restaurant feeds us portions 3 times what we need for a meal serving! Be well.
