Weekly Points Allowance ?

  • How do you use yours? do you use a few each day, or save them up for a once-a-week splurge meal, or.... do you use them at all?

    Just trying to figure out if I'm using them effectively or should try something else.
  • I allot myself 5 a day. I lose better when I spread them out. I don't eat any APs I earn.
  • I lose the most when I eat however many activity points that I've earned. I never eat my flex points, and if I do, then I try to get enough APs to make up for them. I do sometimes save some APs for another day if I don't feel like I need them on the particular day that I get them.

    I tried a lot of different setups before i settled on this one- some people have more success when they eat all of their flex points, but I'm not one of those, sadly!

  • I find I loose weight when I eat my AP and dont eat my allowance points. Sometimes I end up having ate 10 of my allowance but I try not to.
  • I have been trying to stick to my AP's and having 1 day each week where I just don't count points... I count that day as using my day's points and flex points.. the rest of the week I try to stay within my range.. I'm still working that out, but it seems to work for me...
  • I try my hardest not to use any at all. Some weeks are easier than others, obviously. But I'm trying to tell myself that thier isn't something I want bad enough to "waste" those points and when I do want something bad enough, I will use them. I'm trying to train myself not to rely on those extra points, what I get per day is what I get. Sure I'd like to eat one large 35 point blizzard but I'd rather use a few here and there if I have to and am feeling beyond hungry on a certain day. KWIM?
  • We don't have the weekly flex points here (is that what they are called?) but we don't count most fruit and vegetables so we just have a daily amount to use.

    I remember years ago when we had these, and normally I tried not to use them, but rather earn activity points and "save" a point or two dailies to use on the weekend. This is *exactly* what I do now as well.

    Its all down to personal choice and I think using these extras could lead me down a slippery slope. Some people have way better control than me!

    Try a couple of scenarios to see what you feel most satisfied with.
  • I find I lose when I eat about half of my AP and none of my WPA's. If I eat some of my WPA's then I maintain.
