Happy Friday, ladies!
It's gorgeous here in southern Wisconsin and the weekend sounds faboo - highs in the 80s. I have 2 high school graduation parties this weekend, so it's going to be quite the foodarama. Did a 4.2 mile walk before work this morning, so I am trying to hit the exercise a little harder to compensate for the extra food I know I'll be eating. I am trying to get my exercise done in the am since I don't have to be at work until 9am. Laurel - re: WW corp & employees. I have had mostly good experiences while employed but there is a TON of gossip and some backbiting that goes on. It's like a mini Peyton Place some of the time. I try to stay out of it and "live under a rock" so I don't hear too much gossip. Since I used to do only 1 meeting at the WW center I didn't hear as much and now I just have one meeting that is a community meeting, so I am in my own little world. :) Myra - congrats on the loss! Hello to Seasaw, JanetMae, lala & everyone else. |
Right between where I live now and where I used to. I now live in Monroe, in Orange County, right by the Woodbury Commons and on the border of northern New Jersey (about 7 miles from West Milford, NJ). I used to live in the Catskills right between Hunter Mountain and Saugerties.

[b]Lala, thanks so much for the advice! Will look into that hotel; sounds lovely. Sorry about the bad day at Black Rock; surely things will be better when you get back from your trip. Stay in that air conditioning!
Myra, congrats on the loss! Good for you, not letting that bad experience sabotage your loss next week. I remember getting very upset once when an Austin leader wouldn't accept my "paid up, good anywhere" ww card for some franchise reason. (And I bought it 45 minutes away in San Antonio!) I'd driven through rush hour traffic to find the meeting (I was on a business trip) and she wanted $11 for me to even attend, when I'd paid for it already. (I mean, even a leader in San Francisco had accepted the card, and I know they were out of the Texas franchise!) I walked out. But I said the same thing to myself that you did: "I realize I am furious, but I'm not going to let this get me off program." You go, girl! Find a better leader! There are so many good leaders out there. Katie, Peyton Place, huh? Sounds exactly like our teachers' lounge. Like you, I avoid it as much as I can! Life is just too dang short... Laurel, glad you got a good rain; please send some our way! Still so dry here the yard is cracking. (If you can call dust and weeds a yard...) Everything in my garden has to grow in pots, and we water every morning. I agree w/you, WW has a terrific program. Melissa, have fun at the wedding! Had to laugh at the "cupboard aerobics" thing; been there, for sure. Got up at 3:30 a.m. for a cancer walkathon, did 4.5 miles in (for me) record time. Dad, dh and I went out to the ranch to feed calves, so got a bit more exercise there. Am hoping for an op weekend, and maybe another pound down next time. Hope everyone's having a lovely weekend! Regards, Jan |
