Thin4Life - Week of 9/29/08

  • Hello--Happy Monday There is so much going on at work--argh! I had a good weekend. Went to a couples baby shower on Saturday. The new mom received many nice gifts. The baby's name will be Xander. Isn't that interesting? DH and I went to a play. It was pretty good.

Talked to my sister; she is still having a rough time. I told her it will just take time.

    How is everyone else doing?
  • I am on travel for work, so limited connectivity. Work is crazy. I've been exhausted lately too. I'm going to go to bed early tonight so I can catch up on some sleep! Other than that, feeling good.

Lisa - I've heard Xander before, usually short for Alexander though! I hope things get better for your sister. I'm sure it is nice for her to know there is someone she can talk to.
  • Good morning!

It's cold (53) & wet here this morning. It rained pretty much all night with heavy down pours at times. You can tell it's October!

Never heard of the name Xander before but then I see a lot of different names, variations here at the school.

It's been busy here as well--we had our freshman grade distribution yesterday and that went off without any major hitches so that was good.

I went for my weekly chiro appointment and was able to tell him that I had my first full week of no back pain...whoohoo! Now to get my hands under control. I really had a rough night with pain in my hands/wrists that I had to get up and take a pain pill which I haven't done since August! I have my appointment on Friday with the doctor at the pain management center for the nerve test.

I hope everyone is doing well!
  • Lori, Take care of yourself on the road. Travel is exhausting in and of itself.

Melissa, That is cool weather--fall is on the way. It's been rainy here, too. Today it's muggy. Tonight is my board meeting--I think I told you I'm president of my professional group. That keeps me busy. It's just aggravating when people on my board don't show up for the meetings. Then we make decisions and folks ask why we did that! Argh. We just can't please everyone.
  • Good morning! Another cold (50), rainy day here. We've had periods of heavy down pours with some strong winds so umbrellas are pretty much useless. I'm hoping the rain moves out for the game tomorrow night!

I went to my meeting yesterday and was down .2; any loss is a good loss I keep telling myself.

Lori: The tiredness is normal and it will go away after a while; the hardest part for me was that it would hit at different times during the day--mainly in the morning with DS #2 and I could barely keep my eyes open and focus! Be sure to get your rest.

Lisa: I can relate to not having your board show up for meetings and then complain/question what is being done. I'm hoping the weather improves because it should be a nice, colorful fall with all the rain we had in the summer.
  • We had temps in the 60's this morning--how refreshing! I went for my usual walk this morning and had to wear a little jacket. Woo-hoo.

The board meeting went well. We covered a lot of business.

I donated blood today--there go some calories.

Melissa, congrats on the loss--I'll take anything at this point!
  • Well I am back home and VERY happy to be here! I am officially 10 weeks today. I have my next ultrasound 2 weeks from Tuesday. Oh and did I mention that I had a remission test for the leukemia 2 weeks ago and it was negative? Next one will be on the 23rd of October, same day as the ultrasound.

Melissa - Yes, I've been trying to get more sleep at night. I am not a "napper" and don't find myself tired enough after work to actually be able to fall asleep, so I end up going to bed earlier than normal.

We had so much activity in here for a while. It makes me sad that it is down to just the three of us!
