Howdy Howdy all!!

We're back home in Texas. At least most of us. Part of my brain seems to have stayed in transit, cause it sure ain't here.

Kathy - We did Disney cause our spring break is officiallly come and gone. It was nice that California was not on break, fewer crowds.
I
I'm with Kathy on what I've done (or not) with WW this last year. Lauren, I wish I could say I have anything that will trigger me back into losing gear. Obviously going back over 200 isn't it. It is a wake-up call, but even though I'm not hungry, I find myself cramming junk in the old piehole. Obviously it's all a reaction to my current lifestyle and the overall lack of control that I feel with my hubby's career and my DD's weight gain and my own reluctance to get with the program.
At least this 3-day walk for breast cancer is a project with a short-term and a very real schedule. And I"m quite thrilled with the response from so very many folks in the sponsorship end. Now I've got a bit of pressure to get theh walking going. A new walking/running shoe store just opened in my neighborhood. That's a nice way not to have to drive into Ausint on my overscheduled Saturday. :)

Caz -you seem to be doing great. Keep up the good work. This is the best program ever. I do great when I do it right.

My friends with the supper club had an upset with the autistic boy over spring break. The change in his schedule caused him to go over the edge and now he is back in a special "hospital" to evaluate his lifestyle and medication needs. He may come back in a few months or go directly into a group home. Sigh. We had such big hopes for him. A group home is probably what he really needs in the long run. I understand now why I rarely hear of adult autistics -they often have fatal accidents of their own making. Royce could very easily hurt himself and others with the most innocent of ideas. He's determined that he will own and operate a car. And at 15, his peers are starting to drive. It would only take that one time for him to sneak behind the wheel...:(

Lauren -you are starting to sound like Swan in your gentle self evaluations. Is there a course for that?:p What good company is in here.

Off to set my alarm. I gotta get up and walk tomorrow. Used a crappy treadmill today and after only 30 minutes, my butt aches!:o Walking for real is much better, imho.

Hello all!
I am slowly getting back into the swing of things. I think I will start trying to keep a journal on my life besides the food journal. Thanks for the idea Lauren.

Dora, I did the Avon 3-day for Breast cancer two years ago. I loved it. Of course they told us to walk in all sorts of weather to be prepared. Unfortunately for us, Georgia had a drought that summer. So we didn't get to walk in the rain. The first day of the 3-day it poured from 7:30 AM until late that night. I walked all day in the rain. It was fun but wet. We couldn't camp out like they had orginally planned so a high school let us sleep inside their building. The first aid section looked like a war zone b/c we had so many blisters. It also turned cool that evening while we were all waiting for the buses to get to the school. With the wet clothes we had some cases of hypothermia, but they took real good care of everybody. It was such an awesome experience. I loved it bliters and all. I met so many wonderful people. I even walked a few miles with a lady who had lost a leg to cancer. She was so awesome.

Pack a journal if you can. I wished I had to record things during lunch and when landed for the night.

Take care all,
Mystery

Howdy howdy all!

It's a miracle, posting two days in a row!:dizzy:

Mystery -can I touch you? A real 3-day Survivor! I actually went and bought two pairs of shoes today to break in for the walk. Walked two miles in a new pair and cannot believe how out of shape I've let myself become:mad: Feels good to have walked, but I can tell I'd never make 20 at this level.
How cool is it to walk one-legged? What a winner that lady is. I was thinking during my walk what an honor it is to do this and that there's always someone worse off than me. That's while thinking about the 30 pounds found this year and what it's doing to my knees and possibly feet. Plantars faciitis in both feet was one of the pivotal factors in losing some of the weight in the first place.

We were told that CoolMax socks help prevent blisters. Did you happen to try any? They are about $8, so I hate to waste money on just socks. I just bought a fanny pack with two pockets so a pair of fresh socks will fit. I hope, my feet are size ten, so it will be tight!

Rain very well could be a factor here in April. I hadn't even thought of hypothermia. Man, that 35 pound limit on luggage is creeping away quickly! I do hope we get to camp -that seems like part of the fun! Air mattress, anyone?:s:

Ruby, Ruby -did you survive your business trip? I know you did. Come back in, the water's fine!

Gotta face the ugly music tomorrow, ladies! Tomorrow is a new day!
