Quick and On The Go

1. What is your favorite "throw it in your purse" or "on the go meal" that you have created for yourself?

2. I've cut out sugar for the last week and plan to continue with the dismissal of this horrible horrible food that wreaks havoc on my body. Unfortunately, this Wednesday, my work team is having a team building day and one of the activities is actually Iron Chef. I want to stay away from the chocolate eclair and I'm wondering what I could do while I watch everyone else eat theirs. Plus, if it's like any other meeting, there will be plentiful servings of cookies and pastries throughout the day. Any suggestions on what I could do to not feel deprived AND stay away from any sugary processed foods (so granola bars and such are not a possibility)?

I would love some advice on this.

You can't just call in sick that day, lol? Just kidding. Dealing with these kinds of events is a lifelong challenge we have to face, unfortunately. When I'm up against something like this, I take a snack baggie with raisins, or some such food. For example, at the movies, I take a little bag with a cup of dry cereal to eat while others munch the popcorn.

I'm sure the others here will have some good suggestions! You can do this, and we'll want an update Wednesday night, ok?

How about fruits with a high natural sugar content, like bananas? Dry cereal and raisins, like Jane suggested, are also good ideas. You could also bring crunchy vegetables like snow peas or carrots. Good luck!

I'm in college and get the munchies usually on the way home or while at my part time job. I try to keep in my backpack or purse 100 calorie snacks to tide me over, ziplock bags of baby carrots, one or two bottles of water, or something like a Campbell's Soup at Hand. It's been a while since I bought those, but one of their flavors is only two points, and the containers are really convenient.

Don't forget small servings of nuts. String cheese. Cherry tomatoes.
