oooh lala, a cabin in the Queen Charlotte's would be amazing! I've been there once on a vacation and would love to go back. It's a loooong way from where I am but worth the 2-3 day drive (not to mention the 6 hour ferry ride). Lucky you!!!!

The week is continuing to go well - staying on track............

Had sushi for lunch today - yummers! And, it's low point!

kena- it takes longer to get there than anyplace else I ever go to!

We usually drive to Vancouver, spend the night, take the morninng flight to sandspit, ferry over, drive from skidegate (2 hours) to masset.

I've taken the ferry from Prince Rupert, nice going, too long coming back.

I love it there too. We never stay long enough to get enough crabbing and beaching in. Then again, when the weather is not cooperating, its no fun.

Well I did have a pretty great evening... it started with a killer day 3 intense meetings and some professional news that was jarring - all I wanted to do was crash. Got home and had a 1/2 glass of wine and waited for DH. I suggested we just go for a drink and an appetizer instead of the whole sheeebang, and DH seemed willing.

Now, there are two restaurants right next to each other in Santa Monica - The Ivy (overpriced comfort food - where DH had made reservations) and Il Fornaio (moderte priced Italian rest. with great bar)... DH said 'let's go there for a drink' and I loped along - As we entered and walked to the bar I spied a couple we're good friends with, and (duh) wondered - honest, I really was tired and clueless - 'what are they doing at the bar?' - since they don't drink. So I went up to them and asked, 'so are you meeting friends?' and she said, 'yes babe, you!' There ended up being 8 of us and we just had a great time chatting and eating. And yes, I did have some B Day cake.

Hi all-

Patch- That sounds like tons of fun. I haven't been to il fornaio to eat, but I have read the cookbook. Good stuff. Cool surprise on the part of DH and friends.

Hmm. My birthday is in less than a month, I wonder what DP has planned. :)

Nothing much going on here. Anyone have exciting plans for the weekend?

Hi! Well we've experienced a bit of Spring, then Fall, and now we're back to winter with cold, howling winds. It was 53 this morning when I came to work (7:45 a.m.) and by noon it was down in the 42's and now we're in the 30's (4 p.m.). Anyway, it's a good night to make some soup and stay inside :)

Weekend is going to be extremely busy...tomorrow morning the boys have bowling (8:30), afterwards I have a Bridal Tea followed by a banquet in the evening. Can I say a challenging day eating wise? Sunday I'm helping our drum & bugle corps with a raffle and I'll be in the kitchen cooking pizzas, hotdogs & sauerkraut and afterwards I'll head home and veg on the couch watching the commercials from the Super Bowl. Phew! I'll be glad when Monday rolls around.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and stays warm!
