Thin4Life - Week of Sep 3/07
Hello, September!!!:dizzy: Where is this year going?
Had a good weekend. Played golf twice. Went to a friend's house for a cookout and watched a movie. We saw "Wild Hogs." Even though it had good actors, it wasn't that funny. Lots of activity points this weekend; went for a couple long walks. Eating was so-so. How is everyone else? |
I can't believe it's September either! It seems like the summer was just starting last week!
Like you, Lisa, I got a lot of activity in over the weekend. We had the German Fest Saturday/Sunday so I was on my feet all day walking back and forth at the grounds. Monday I played catch-up at home and vacuumed, mopped and washed my car--I broke a good sweat by the time I was done. Eating was okay--had a half of a smoked turkey sandwich both days of the festival so that was okay. Saturday night I had a bit of a run in with some potato chips but it could've been worse. I keep thinking today is Monday, which is good because it's a short work week! Hi to Pam, Susan, Lori! Hope you had a great holiday weekend! |
Hi ladies! Busy weekend here. Forget if I posted about it or not on the old thread. Did a lot of cooking, installed a cabinet and microwave over the stove, painted the bedroom, planted some shrubs... :) But I also rented a movie and got to hang out by the fire the other night (we have a fire pit in our back yard). I also enjoy all the housework (and cooking!) so it was a good weekend.
Tonight I'm going to get my left sleeve finished. I have a full sleeve on my right arm, and tonight's appointment will finish up the one on my left. I'm talking tattoos for those who don't know :) Will have to take some pics if you are interested in seeing them! I need to take some new "Lifetime Membership Weight" pics as well. I was looking at an old WI book of mine, and my lowest was 151, and I was only there for a week. I can't believe I'm that close to that weight! I just want to be a size 8 and fit comfortably into mediums. And hopefully that will happen before I TTC. I don't think I'll be giving myself much time to enjoy my lower weight  I did find out that when I do get pregnant, I can't go to WW anymore. It bummed me out, but I will continue with eTools, maintaining my weight for the first 3 months and then adding in the extra 300 calories per day for the last 6. This should give me the 25-35 pound gain that the doctors recommend. But all that won't happen for a few months anyway, so I'm trying to enjoy my smaller sizes now!! :D |
Lori, yes please post some pics. Isn't it great to fit into smaller sizes?? I always wondered what WW folks do when they get pregnant. I would be so afraid of gaining too much weight.
|
Well those are my plans! I read that you need 300 calories extra per day starting in your second trimester, so when I start to TTC I will go onto maintenance. Once I get pregnant, I will stay on maintenance, and add those extra 300 calories (4-6 points a day I figure) in the 2nd and 3rd trimester. I just wish I could still go to the meetings to inspire me to eat healthy, but I guess I will just have to keep coming on 3fc for my support! No pics yet. I had my tattoo appointment last night. Its all done! Both my arms are covered now  I'm going to have to start working on my ribs, chest, and legs next. But not until after I have a baby!

Lori: I'm drawing a blank here...what is "TTC"? You'll use all the foundation that you've created when you're pregnant. I didn't join WW until AFTER I had DS #2 and he was 7 when I decided to join. I had previously gotten my weight down to 137 and maintained it for a short period of time but then gained (161) and couldn't lose so I decided I needed to learn to eat right. With both of my boys I gained 22/23 pounds so that wasn't bad at all. With DS #2 I did a lot of walking and that really helped with my weight afterwards.
Lisa: I've seen a lot of members join to get healthy before they get pregnant and some are there because their doctor's have suggested losing some weight prior to getting pregnant. I wish I would've had the the foundation of WW before I had DS #1. On a good note, I was down 1# today at WI! :carrot: I'm really pleased with that and am hoping to lose another pound next week. I've been keeping the online journal and that seems to be working for me. This past week I wasn't that great with keeping it with the long weekend and fesitval. The weather here is getting hot and humid--tomorrow's high is 86 and Friday we're supposed to hit 87! I'm not a fan of the warm, sticky temps. Walking will have to move indoors tomorrow. |
Way to go Melissa! Did your leader have some good suggestions for you after you showed her your journal?
TTC stands for "try(ing) to conceive" |
Melissa, CONGRATS!!!
Lori, thanks for explaining TTC. |

Lori: My leader is great and offered just a few small things--I need to up my veggie intake (I've slacked in this area) but other than that I'm right on target. I know the accountability really helped. I loved the pictures! So, here's a question for you--how long did it take for you to have your sleeve done? I'm always in awe of those who are able to get tattoos...my sister has a few and so do my brothers. I can't imagine sitting still for any length of time!
Lisa: It's hot, hot, hot here! We hit 96 degrees yesterday (official temp at the airport was 93) and it was so humid outside it took your breath away. Relief is coming tomorrow. It's unusual for this time of year to be so hot. No major plans for the weekend--DS #2 has a football game tonight, tomorrow he'll have a practice, and Sunday DS #1 and his wife leave for their honeymoon/cruise. I just hope the weather is good for them. They're going to Bermuda. Saturday I'm going to do some things around the house since DH will be out of town for the day. I may try to get a walk in as long as the weather is good. So what's everyone else doing? |
Melissa - For each arm, I went in 8 times. It was 3 hours for each session. You need to wait at least 4 weeks in-between sessions. Takes quite a bit of time :) Congrats on your son getting married!
Not many plans for the weekend. I'm coming into work tomorrow (at least I get paid OT for it!) and Sunday I'm just going to relax :) I have WI tomorrow, but I don't expect much. TOM was this week, and the scale hasn't really budged even though I used only 0.5 points of my WPA! I've been getting all my water, veggies and calcium but not oil. I can't bring myself to eat it. I've also ate all of my activity points  but hey I was hungry! ;) |
So today at WW I was down 0.8. My ticker here is my weight on my scale in the morning with no clothes on :) By that scale, I was down 0.6. TOM was this week, plus I had a glass of wine 4-5 nights the past week! I usually lose at least a pound a week. I'm wondering if the combo of TOM and the wine did it. I was COMPLETELY on plan, so who knows? :) I'm happy I'm down at all!
|
Congrats on some loss--hey, I'm happy with any loss lately. If you had a loss with TOM and Vino, you're doing good. Yes, wine, although it's beneficial, it has a lot of sugar in it.
