Palm Pilot software for WW?
 

In the past I've read people talking about running software on their palm pilots for tracking WW, but I haven't come across any downloads on various palm sights. Is anyone using a program that works well for tracking WW on a palm? Thanks :-) Holly

Some people also keep databases of the restaurant and foods lists on their palms; afraid I don't have a good current source of those, but I'm sure someone will!

I just found a new Palm PDA program that I believe is based on the White Oaks journal and is also freeware. It's got an activity counter that calculates activity points, weight ranges up to 350, and more. If you load the WW companion file that comes with wwcalc then you can do lookups from within the program. Go to palmgear and search on wwcalc.

WOW! I have been using the White Oaks WW Points palm app for a while now, and have been pretty happy....but the wwcalc application is really cool!

If WW was smart, they'd license this product or something similar and provide it at a reasonable price, along with searchable database versions of the Food Companion, Dining Out guide, etc. Their recipe converter would also be a valuable Palm app...

I just d/l'ed the ww calc program to my palm yesterday and I love it! I even like it so much that I deleted my White Oaks WW software. Having a database attached (via List) is wonderful! The author did a terrific job.

Thanks for all the great ideas guys! I ended up with the WWcalc program. I also went to Dotties sight (dwlz.com) and downloaded the restaurants with a doc viewer. I think I could download the restaurants to the WWcalc program (list area), though, so I may try to do that to get all the info into one program. I loved the White Oaks program (1st one I downloaded), but it didn't allow you to journal 1/2 pts (which I often have) (example: 2.5 pts -- you had to go 2 or 3). Having the food lists all on the palm is very convenient also (a WWcalc feature). Now...if I could just figure it all out!!

I'm so geeky when it comes to gizmos, programs, etc...anything to stay motivated and on track! Let's keep up the thread with any other programs, etc... you guys come across :-)

On the WWcalc program, what is the deal with the negative and positive numbers for pts and bank?? I'm sure I'm just being dumb, but... Also, I was able to type in 1/2 pts, but it doesn't look like it actually registered the 1/2 -- not possible, or user error?! Holly

Not sure but I think he is working on that bug. Might be in the next release.
You might want to subscrice to his list so you know when the updates are.

There seem to be lots of Palm Pilots out there. If I wanted to buy a Palm Pilot to use for Weight Watchers and email, how do I know which one to buy? I might buy one that is too expensive or not expensive enough. I don't know what to look for. Any recommendations?

I'm no expert -- just bought my 1st one -- but I ended up with the Palm M105. It has 8MB of memory, but no expansion slot. The M125 is the next step up, I believe, and it does have an expansion slot (for extra memory). My experience so far -- and I've been downloading programs for the palm like a fiend ;-) -- is that I have plenty of memory. The M105 can work with a modem, etc., and do email, but I don't use it for that. Mine cost $149.00. I'm enjoying mine a great deal, and was very surprised to find how much software is available. I'm dying for a Pocket PC based program myself. Currently I just activesync between a desktop excel worksheet and pocket excel.

It's a bit kludgy but it works. :(

I Continue to look for something for the pocket PC and I have my 13 year old on it...he will be the one to find it if it is out there..LOL

If we find something I will be sure to post it!!!
