New point system
I joined weight watchers 2 weeks ago and got the new kit and they gave me the new "test" to fill out to figure out my daily pts. and they have me eating 37 a day!!! I was prior to joining using 28 a day, and well i'm really thinking about going back to 28 because I feel like I have very very little energy now. plus my weekly weight loss is half of what it was! and I am even finding it hard to stick to the plan now, before I had none of these issues! What do you guys think? should I go back to 28 a day? thinks in adv! :?: :?:

I would stick to whatever the quiz told you. You may be losing less, but as long as you are losing a healthy 1-2 pounds per week then your are losing at a healthy and steady pace!
As for energy, do you exercise? |
what is the "new point system" is it just the test they gave you?

Are points calculated differently? Are there still 35 additional flex points to use during the week? If so, you can't compare old points to new points. Weight Watchers is usually based on the latest weight loss research, so why not start with their reccommendations, and only adjust if you need to. Even so 9 points sounds like a lot, but an extra 275 - 450 calories isn't as huge a difference as it sounds, especially if you're adding in the recommended exercise.

I know that WW always updates their Plans and tries to figure which one works. I also think you should have more confidence in them. Obviously they have reconfigured what works and why. I think you'll have more points to work with because they are realizing that the body stalls on lower points and if you starve a body, well it wants to rest and hibernate. It also means more energy for you and to be more active knowing you'll feel better. I think they're right.

I dont go to meetings anymore.I do the ww at home on my own.Last time I went was Match of 2006.Are the points different from then?If not,how would I go about finding the new point system?TIA

Yes the points have changed, yes it is proven to be effective. It is based on what your body needs by utilizing the Basal Metabolic Rate.
Yes you still get the weekly points. To find out the new plan (or take the quiz) you'd have to get updated information by meetings, purchasing athome (or updated version) or doing online. |
