Need some positive reinforcment

Hey all, just needs some words of encouragement.

I finally did it I hit goal about a month ago and have maintained ever since. The sabotagers are now coming out of the wood work. I was asking my DH to take my after picture in the 2 piece bathing suit I wore on my honeymoon all those years ago. Now I know I didn’t look perfect but I was pretty darn proud of myself only to have someone in my family point out to me “oh by the way your stomach still jiggles.”

I felt like all the success I just accomplished had turn to crud. I’m just having a hard time shaking this off. So, I’m calling you guys for some back up and encouraging words to get me out of this funk.

Thanks in advance!

Who cares if your stomach DOES still jiggle? You are healthier and happier and that is what matters most!!!

Hey the pounds are gone so don't worry about them, they are probably just jealous anyway.

First, congrats! Yay you!! You've met your goal, who cares if you jiggle a little? Shoot, you earned it. You just jiggle while laughing all the way to the pool in your two piece.

Don't let that get you down. Getting to goal is an amazing accomplishment.:bravo:

Reflect on how far you have come, that you can fit into that bikini, how good you feel and all the benefits you will be getting from adopting a healthy lifestyle.

You have done something that a lot of people only wish they could do. :D

Oh, phooey on those that point out the jiggles! I've still got them, and always will. I'm proud of them. When you were heavier you probably didn't jiggle because the skin was stretched solid (at least mine was!), and to top that off, the rest of the jiggle comes from having kiddos. You've accomplished so much, be proud of yourself! And wear that two piece, you've definitely earned it!

Since it was family that did that I would point out that was hurtful and unnecessary. Something my therapist taught me to ask people who say inappropriate things is "What was your purpose in saying that?" You would be amazed the reaction from them.

Congratulations on your weight loss and reaching goal. You have done a wonderful job and enjoy that two piece. :carrot:

Thank you all so much for your support. You'll be all happy to know I've confronted that person and told them in a way that was not mean that what they said was very hurtful and that I felt I worked so hard to get to where I am and with one sentence they took that away from me. I told them that I'm sure it wasn't intentional and if it was I didn't want to know but in the future I asked that if they truely need to say such mean and hurtful things that they say it in their heads to themselves and not out loud to me.

I didn't ask for an appology because I knew I wouldn't get one but the satisfaction of speaking my mind and letting them know it wasn't ok was good enough for me.

So thank you all again! It's nice to know i have you all in my corner :)

Good for you for speaking up! I have such a hard time doing that myself.

CONGRATS on reaching goal!! And if you are happy with you, that's all that matters. Don't let someone else ruin that good feeling. :)
