Elan- How are you setting up these blind dates? I'm going to be jealous if you're cheating with us on match.com or one of the other online dating sites... you never know what creeps are out there on the internet! LOL! Then again, I had no idea you were a cat-shaver. Dang!

Linda- take care of yourself! It's a festival, not a marathon! I'll be thinking of you!

I don't have much more than a minute to post -- house to clean and friends due over soon -- but WI went better than I thought. Down another 1.4. Certainly thought I would have gained quite a bit back seeing as though my eating was... errrr... pathetic, to put it mildly. But I'm down. And working to be back in control. Goal for next WI? 1.5 to take me out of the 140's (even if it's only 0.1 ;) ).

Hope you're all having a great Friday... wishing you all the best for the weekend!

I'll try to remember it's a festival not a marathon. I have no voice this morning! Almost completely gone with laryngitis. Oh well.
Just a moment on line before I shower and get up there.
I blew it and had take out for dinner and pizza for lunch yesterday. I give up for today and will be back on the wagon again tomorrow.

Derry --- so sorry that you are not feeling well and THEN on top of it having to be occupied for the whole day rather than relaxing! Not a good thing. If I have a chance to upload a picture of my "new" cat! ha ha...I will. She is totally cute and happy that she does not have her horrid coat on. I brought her home and the other one doesn't recognize her (the one in the bag). He's a little dumb I think! He's convinced he is a dog. Never thought I would be the one that has the cats, the kids were supposed to take them with them when they moved out! ARGH!!!

As for the dating Lafayette...I am not telling you cause you are engaged to be married and should not be looking! (j/k). I have told my friends that I want to date and I figure that if they know someone and they know me, what a perfect way of doing it! I am going out with the other guy tonight for coffee. Seems to me that he thought my excuse was plausible the other night! ha ha!

Went shopping for clothes yesterday. Although I am not close to even my goal weight I was able to go to some *regular* stores and buy some clothes. I found a beautiful summer outfit (cream coloured pants--NEVER in my LIFE have I had cream coloured pants --yes...and in Canada eh they spell *coloured* that way <-- tip of the day ha ha!). AND....I bought a beautiful blouse (that I have NEVER in my life paid for as much as I did, but BOY it is BEAUTIFUL!!!) Yes and go go along with it a pair of those wedge sandals...I look great, TALL and slimmer! Makes me really want to shed this weight so that I can buy MORE clothes!

Have a great weekend all! You are my inspiration!!!! (note that I am again standing under the *Will Power Dust*....I think it's good luck!!)

Elan, sometimes spending a great deal on one special outfit is exactly the "zip" you need to inspire you. I'm sure it's fabulous and you deserve it.
I know my WW leader once told us to splurge on a fabulous outfit after we have lost weight, don't just wait to reach goal, do something special in recognition of where you are now and how great you will look NOW!
I'm so tired, but it's a good tired. The Festival went so well and people bonded together and the day was outstanding with sun, a light breeze, a few puffy white clouds and lots and lots of strawberries. I think we made money and our vendors made money. I think everyone had one of those special "happy days" that attended. I know you all know that a certain mix of great weather, lovely things to see and do, food and music can often make a wonderful memory and I am glad that I was part of making a memory like that for some people.
But, I have virtually no voice left, I am down to a squeaky whisper and my throat feels a bit like sandpaper. As today is our wedding anniversary, we were going to go out for a special meal, but that seems kind of pointless when one is not feeling well. I left the festival early and felt everything was in control and came home to soup, a nap and some tea. Now, I can sit here for awhile on line and maybe lay down and watch TV and take a well deserved rest. No ambitions for working out or doing anything, believe me. I think I had enough activity points over the last two days to equal three visits to the gym anyway.
Next week, I guess?

That **Will Power Dust*** has the mojo!!! ha ha! :carrot: This week is going to be a FANTASTIC week!

Ok...so the date last night -- in a nutshell, we met at a pub, where he introduced me to ALL his friends (I never knew that I would be on display) -- on top of it, one of his female friends brought ANOTHER FEMALE to introduce to HIM! ha ha (She was really nice and so was his female friend -- I think I should get their numbers and hang with the girls! lol). THEN, the band started playing so there was NO conversation at all! I just shook my head. I left after about an hour and a half. He LOOKS like a nice guy, but we never got a chance to talk. I came home and just started laughing! Some guys are just dumb when it comes to dating!

On the weight loss news frong -- I had another new outfit on and I looked FABULOUS if I do say so myself. I went shopping again and found out that I had to go down two sized -- I think I love this new place for jeans (Marks Work Warehouse) because they shave off two sizes so they fit you! Normally I am in a 16 or 18, but the jeans I fit into were 14's! ha ha.... They sure know how to market to have you come back! I did manage to buy two more pairs of dress pants for work, that look very nice and actually don't look like I'm some Italian sausage squashed into the casing! :dizzy: I have been holding off buying ANY new clothes saying that I will keep losing weight and will have to buy again -- but WOW...does it ever make a difference in how I feel about myself with new clothes. It's this confidence boost that I would have never thought I would feel. Tip of the day ------ even if you can't afford it, save up and go out and buy ONE new item that makes you feel great. Get that item that you absolutely LOVE.

Derry...HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! So many people are divorced in our world it is wonderful to celebrate those anniversaries! Congrats to you both! Relationships are hard work and each year is worthy of a celebration! Sorry that you are not feeling well! I do hope that you have a nice day and we will certainly be passing on the "get well" mojo your way!!!

derrydaughter 06-24-2007 07:18 PM

Elan, so if he asks, will you go out with him again? Sounds like you could barely get to know anything about this guy in a noisy place like that, though. Did he SEEM nice, at least?
Thanks for the anniversary wishes. 23 years is a pretty long time and I am so lucky considering so many other people. I wish I had been feeling better this weekend to really celebrate, but that's the way it goes. People do get sick.
I really didn't do justice to my weight loss efforts this weekend, so I begin anew tomorrow.
