I think that a lot of chain restaurants think that "eating healthy" means a grilled chicken salad. That is the reason I have a tough time staying op when going out to eat...I want something more exciting!

Most 'sit down' restaurants have a baked potato or at least the ones I've been at and most places I go have whole or skim milk.

We don't have a Friendly's here but you could try your petition. Have you called the corporate office and asked them about healthier options and what they'd require in number of signatures to add it?

mpaigew, ask for things the way you want them cooked and you can have 'exciting' options. It took a while for me to assert myself and tell them exactly the way I wanted it cooked but most places are very accomodating. :)

I guess California is out of the loop

mp i totally feel the same way but thereare times when id be fine subbing a tater for fries. evidentally theyre idea of healthy is a grilled chicken salad or sandwich on whole wheat bread and veggies cpooked in oil and butter. its frustrating but i love to go there so like you i usually dont do well i usually eat what i want and thenmake up for it later.

i called corporate and theyre no help.

I find that restaurants I go are willing to make substitutions. For instance instead of has browns or french fries ask for sliced tomatoes or a slice of cantaloupe or watermelon. After all they want your repeat business ,if they refuse to accomadate you. go someplace else,

they dont have any fruit--- even if they did i only swap a starch for a starch.
