Hi you guys,
I'm back from Vancouver B.C. where it was grey and very seattlelike. :) It snowed south of seattle yesterday and the pictures on the front of the paper this morning looked pretty. I had a good meeting of people doing some of the same kind of work I am and it was interesting talking to others about the scope of work and the applications they are using. I made some good contacts and realized that I do like applied science and ecology. We ate a bit too much and I realized I am sabotaging myself for some strange reason. I had 15 pts left in the day and I think I inhaled them at burger king on the way home because I didn't want to delay the fun crossing of the border. If I had said "listen, lets eat a normal meal in Vancouver", I would sat down, drank water and eaten vegetables instead of the bk broiler, taco and some fries. I am v. dissappointed in myself.... so, plans for the weekend... um, flying, getting a haircut on another continent and seeing friends and family. Back in the office on wednesday :). Tree is next week and so is the beginning of present collection, wrapping and decorating. seesaw- Please put up some pictures of your house all decorated! good luck with your computer woes and you'll take the weight off easily. melissa- woohoo. way to go. was that diet pumpkin pie? kt- glad your DH and DD fared without you. Don't worry the snow will come as will more rain here :(. Laurel -22 pts its just such a nice number. I think if you stick with it for a few weeks, you'll be happy with the result. So, I better get my mail in order and figure out what is going on with all this work I have to do. Take care ladies. I will post my scrumptious tasting menu from the restaurant I went to on Tuesday. I like tasting menus, you only get about 2 bites from each thing and those are usually the best. lala |
Well it's raining here in LA - and to say I'm having a "bad hair day" Melissa , is just touching the surface. And major congrats on losing that 1.6 over the holiday!! :dizzy:
Lala I know how cravings can really do a number on one. On Sunday, after flying home from Boston, my hubby and I ordered Thai delivery and I ate enough Pad Thai for two, let's not even talk about the Beef Panang and rice. I couldn't and wouldn't help myself. This always happens when I'm overtired and overworked. It's as if I need to treat myself 'somehow' and food is the easiest and most accessible answer. Don't be too hard on yourself. Traveling as much as you do has to take it's toll. I live for the day Seasaw, when I have a house that I can decorate! Til then, I'm enjoying living vicariously through yours. Bathroom sounds great. LM - I really like tackling the week with a daily point limit in mind. Great to hear you're "workin' it". Ciao Patch |
I'll chime in with the yucky weather here in NJ/NY (went into the city today). Cold and drizzly, but considering that yesterday was sunny and 70 degrees, no room to complain. Anyway the worms like the damp.
Seasaw yup, this is day 4 (FOUR) - that's day four, yes Lord, of 23 points or under. Well, I did have a much larger lunch than usual and so I did the majorly huge veg melange for zero points to fill up at dinner. It doesn't leave me anything for the evening munch, but I'm going to try and tough it out. Maybe I should go to bed now (6:40 p.m....;) ) I think the bad hair thing must be contagious - mine is just not doing the right things. My dear haircutter-lady seems to only take off the tiniest snips, so that 5 weeks later (I refuse to go more often) it's very shaggy - not too pretty. lala and patch We can all relate to letting tempting stuff get the better of us --- otherwise, would we be having this conversation to begin with?!?! Good to know we're in this together. As I say, can I get through the night without my chocolate milk and a little bite of "something"? Did I really need to have those few fries at lunch - which they weren't even really good fries? etc etc. Keep the faith gals. There are bad times and good times - I think we're just trying to get our strengths to overcome our occasional lapses. Only human after all. Meanwhile, lala where are you flying off to now? And who takes care of Jacques and Miss Puss while you're gone??? Okay, time to stare longingly at the refrigerator for the next 4 hours - good thing it's almost empty! |
A rainy, dreary day here today to match my mood after hearing the news of George Harrison's death. I still miss John after all these years; guess it will be the same for his band mate. George was my sister's favourite Beatle. Me? I just liked the whole package. Now half of them are gone.
laurel, melissa, patch: Add me to the bad hair list. I'm getting a cut and highlights tomorrow so that should help. The weather hasn't helped either. Isn't it strange how it suddenly gets too long overnite? lala, patch: I continue to struggle in the food dept. There's no reason that I can offer for the mindless eating that is occurring. Last nite, it was cherry twizzlers. At least they're low fat, but come on - candy? Give me a break. I still intend to weigh in tomorrow although I know the news won't be good. If anything, I've probably gained since last week. ARGHHH I hate this battle. Sorry for venting. It's the George thing... |
quick note here ladies.
well, laurel, I'm off to london and I'm getting a haircut while there. DP is taking care of Jacques and roya. She is too busy right now to lollygag with me. seesaw=- yup, twizzlers, sour patch kids and well, um, hersheys bar consumed yesterday for no good reason. i made it to the gym today pre-flight and to weigh in. I booked myself into a hotel with a good gym and I'm going to make december a pretty much everyday do what is right month. okay, gotta split. no worries ladies, i'll check in from london. lala btw, other than a few regional hops, this is it for me and flying for this year. |

Hey there all.
Laurel - - major congrats on the weight loss - that daily/weekly point goal sure worked! Wow! 129.4 :dizzy: . That's just great. YOU GO GIRL!!! Seasaw and Lala - How did the cut and/or color go? Well, I went to the "hair chopper" over the weekend as well, and said... OK... I want something fun and sexy for the holidays... let me have it! I forced myself to relax and prayed... he did a great job. It's now about 5 inches shorter. Yikes! But much easier to take care of - and since my hair is pretty thin, the shortness lightens the load and it looks fuller. "Bad hair days" look out! Do you think I'll weigh less??? How's everyone doin'? |
