Thin for life - April 22, 2007

Howdy!

I'm back and among the living.

This on and off thing is killing me, so here I am.

Having a good beginning to a very busy week. Food is planned, exercise is upped and I'm trying to stay motivated.

I am also going through some changes in my body that mean that perimenopause is starting and that is not amusing me.

So, between that, my lack of metabolism and my need to be down to 130 or less before September has sent me into shock mode.

How is everyone else doing?

I promise to be here more. Seriously.

Lala: I feel your pain...my metabolism has slowed and like you am going through different changes that I'm not liking. We will survive this!

The weekend was great weather wise--temps were in the high 60's on Saturday and Sunday we were in the 70's so it was great outdoor weather.

I pulled out the winter/fall clothes and packed them away and along with that I put things in a pile to be taken to the women's shelter that I don't wear or wore on rare occasions. I figure there's no sense keeping something I may have worn once or not at all! It was productive. Tonight I need to go through my spring/summer things and start getting things ready for my trip on Thursday.

I did manage to get 10,000+ steps each day over the weekend which is great for me. I'm hoping the scale reflects some of my hard work on Wednesday but who knows since TOM should be arriving.

Did I tell you my DS has set his wedding date and that they have their hall? The big day is August 11th so it's going to be a crazy summer!

Hi everyone,

had a decent eating day yesterday, even with the run in with the corn nuts. I am having a hard time keeping to 18-20 points, but I'm going to try today. It didn't help that I started out my morning with a new box of Jean-Charles Rochoux chocolates.

sublime.

However, I also had kashi, milk and half a banana and have a healthy low point lunch.

Today or tomorrow am I need to get my blood drawn. I am not looking forward to that.

How is everyone else doing?

Melissa - Yeah on having a very well organized groom. Sounds like they are doing alot of work. I can't wait to see the pictures.

I need to do yet another clothing purge too.

Good for you for cleaning out your closets.

Okay, back to data...

Good morning everyone. I arrived home yesterday morning. Had a great trip. Of course I ate (and drank) too much, but I did manage to get a minimum of an hour's walk every day - often as much as two hours. I didn't run because it was just too hot.

Melissa: Nova Scotia experienced some great temps over the weekend too - in the vicinity of 24 celcius. By comparison, Cuba was in the 28-29 range. How exciting that the wedding date has been set and you have something concrete to work toward. It will be a busy summer, but loads of fun no doubt.

lala: I have a bit of a deadline to work towards too. My 35-year high school reunion will take place on the first weekend of August and I've decided to give it my all for that date. I know that's a long way off but it will challenge me to take off 10% (15 lbs) and work to keep it off over the summer. I'll also be training for another half marathon since I don't feel ready for the one in May. I will drop down to 10 km for that one.

How is everyone else?

Good morning ladies!

Sorry for the absence--things here have been pretty crazy. Someone at the school received a threat early yesterday morning so the campus was buzzing with police. They did get the person who made the phone call--a 19-year old female (former student). There was a bit of chaos in the residence hall area but overall things went well. I didn't see much at my end of campus because I'm not that close to the academic buildings.

I did go to my meeting yesterday and stayed the same, I guess that's good since TOM arrived a day early. I leave a 5 pm tonight for FL--I can't wait. I need to finish packing when I get home later today. I have way too many clothes! My GF told me I can wash there if I need to and besides the weather is warm! I am going to be able to get out for a few walks so that will be nice :) I'm looking forward to this break--I need it!

Lala: I have a hard time sticking to around 19 points too...it's do-able but you have to be creative.

Susan: Welcome back! I'm glad you had a nice time. Hopefully you got to relax and not worry about work :D

I think Lisa is due back today because she mentioned last week that she'd be arriving back in FL when I was getting in. Maybe our paths will cross!

It's gloomy here today--overcast, cool and rainy so I'm glad I'm heading south. Temp is holding at 49.

Have a great week everyone! I'll be back next Wednesday evening!

Have a great trip Melissa.

Meant to mention in my earlier post lala that I just can't stick to 19 points a day. I'm targetting 25. I have lost successfully on a max of 27 a day, so it should work if I remain consistent. And if I get exercise, it's very reasonable. 19 is a recipe for failure for me.
